Re: Falicum - Don't insult those who are trying to help - 16 years ago
Good for you Jane. I live in the area during the summer months as well. It may not be the best thing to do but how can you not feed them when they are hungry.A couple of years ago there was a charity that travelled around in a van and they streralised all the strays. They were driving across the hill from hanioti to Skioni one day when they got run of the road by a driver that couldn't be botherby pedro - Halkidiki

Re: Rubbish in Halkidiki - 16 years ago
you only have to look outside Pefkohori in the forest along the beaches.there is a very good camp site but they all use the forest as it is free. The rubbish piles up all summer. It is a real eyesore not to mention the smell and the vermin. This is all from the local tourist from the towns and citiesby pedro - Halkidiki

Re: KILLER PLASTIC CARRIER BAGS..... - 16 years ago
the locals do drop far more litter than the tourists. The mountain of rubbish mentioned above starts well berore the tourists arrive and all the caravans parked illegally there have Greek plates.Have a look at how many greek cars have rubbish thrown out of them.it's a shame as it is a beautiful countryby pedro - Halkidiki
Re: KILLER PLASTIC CARRIER BAGS..... - 16 years ago
just outside Pefkohori there is a beautiful stretch of beach and pine forest and a natural harbour.it is spoilt by a mountain of stinking rubbish thrown away by illegal campers and caravaners. They also use the woods as a toilet. All this when there is a camp site a few k's down the road. Why don't the local council and police ernforce the no free camping lawsby pedro - Halkidiki
