hi marie
alot of the reviews are ok about the food and we're not fussy so just gonna enjoy what we can and leave what we don't, sure the alcohol will wash it down anyway!
we have children of ages 12, 9, 9, 5 and 5 coming with us so the older ones are just right ages to have fun with yours
everyone so excited here already, going to be unbearable by the time we go.... and thats just me!!!!
See you at the bar for a drink
My daughter would love to hear from your kids if they fancy msn'ing before they go or something

Hey!! dont blame me about the horseflys i didnt start it winking smiley

I typed wasp repellents into google yesterday !! there is some interesting and slightly bizarre ways to stop them coming near u, but i think the everyone on the whole complex would avoid u if u did any of them

(blow up a brown paper bag and attach it to your hat, apparently wasps will think its a hornets nest and they hate hornets so they will stay away from u, Go on u could start a new trend)

It`s not really suited to your age grup I would guess. Hanioti has plenty of bars but didn`t see any clubs but then again I wasn`t looking for them. Very quiet within the Hotel and not much entertainment for 18 year olds. Sorry.

Kristy,
Most of the all inclusive resorts are family based, so not the most typical place for an 18year old to go too,
But saying that u are there in august, height of the season. Get yourself friendly with the reps who im sure will be around your age, they will tell u were the best clubs and more party atmosphere is to be found.

Im sure u will have a great holiday, and that u will find something to suit u, but i doubt u will be clubbing every night, but then as u are going to be with fiance and family you probably wont want it every night anyway.

If all else fails take up a new hobby, if heat magazine is anything to go by, most celebs have taken up knitting at the poolside!!! winking smiley

The kids club reps and Hannah are all young and in the 18 year old bracket. They must have gone out and had a good time somewhere.

Fiona, I seriously would walk around with a blown up brown paper bag on my head if thats what it takes to keep them away. I am on holiday i dont care. Its becoming an obsession what i dont know about insect repellent isnt worth knowing. It could be my specialised subject if i ever go on mastermind. My husband thinks its halarious, so i secretly hope he gets bitten. If you get any more good tips let me know.

Another one was filling freezer bags with water and a 1p. apparently the 1p looks like a spider and bag with water appears like a web to all insects with erm what the word for bulging eyes like wasps n flies have?

Worth a try ?

(im sure some people on this forum things im half crazy by now)

Sorry no tips on weight loss, i gave in on that years ago

Re: Chrousso Village, Paliouri

Sorry Dianne about mentioning the horseflies, but forewarned if forarmed, or in your case for(ty) bottles of repellant !

Seriously, stop worrying. You cant do anything about it if it is one of those years, just try and ignore them. Don't let it spoil your holiday preparations. Once you see the area and Paliori old Greek town you will be more than happy.

Also, either take with you or buy at the ONE EURO shops (in Kallithea and Kassandrea they have these shops), or any little local shop, a good old fashioned swatter. I never walk along the beach without one to swat wasps, mozzies, in fact anything that flies to near me. See I am not really that brave either !

If you see this overweight (bet I am more fat than you !) 50 year old walking along the edge of the sea with a swatter and insect repellant spray, it is bound to be me ! I gave up on the bikini idea this year when I failed to diet and lose the extra stone I put on last years holiday - beware the gorgeous Greek food, especially if you eat out anywhere! I just thought it easier to buy a swimsuit and carry on eating and drinking on the run up to the holiday, hahaha

Have a great time. Try to visit some other places like Loutra, Siviris, Pefkohori, Hanioti just to get a glimpse of the other villages. Hanioti about the busiest of the ones I mentioned, but certainly not Blackpool in the sun by any means.

Bye for now. For me only ONE AND A HALF SLEEPS< HAHAHA - will be there til 2 July, then off to Thessaloniki for four days. We visit Paliori a couple of times a week at lunch as we love it so much, not touristy and very quiet, but great food or if you are all inclusive nice icecreams and beers........

Kalo Taxithi (bon voyage)

Im going to Chrousso on Wednesday 21st June (three days to go!). I was really looking forward to it, and then I read a recent review about millions of wasps and now am just worried. The reviews seem to be pick and mix, either really great or really bad.

We've had a rough year so all we really need is a rest, so we are just looking for sitting in the sun, eating, drinking, sleeping. Its also our first holiday together so.... nerve racking really.

Anyway will let you know when I come back how it goes.

Wish us luck!

SUZANNE, you will be fine we go 29th june, and we are really looking forward to it. most of the reviews are good the bad ones being what we would call trivial things. The main thing i am worrying about is the wasps which everybody seems to be mentioning. see you there!
