Re: Halkidiki 2017 Which resort - 6 years ago
Donnie I'm 61 and been going tp Polichrono for 16/17 years now. Its got a variety of bars and restaurants from traditional to fast food, something for everyone. Beach can get quite crowded, most restaurants have beds on the beach. Lots of people on this forum love Polichrono and keep going back so it must be doing something right.by iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Weather - 9 years ago

Re: Nick @ Horseshoe Bar Hanioti - 11 years ago
I've been to Polychrono the last ten years so I have seen the changes to the tourists. You stated that its the East Europeans that are spoiling the area but you could equally blame the other nationalities for not coming. Why are the brits/germans no longer coming? Maybe its the prices, maybe its the standard of accomodation?by iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Nick @ Horseshoe Bar Hanioti - 11 years ago
Thats a bit harsh on East Europeans. We all have our budget and if they can only afford the apartment and then cater for themselves then so be it, I don't see why that should offend anyone? Surely by renting a place they are contributing to the local economy? What do you spend on holiday Halkidiki Lover? Whatever it is why don't you spend more? Do you stay at 5 star accomodation and lookby iaitch - Halkidiki

Mancrunch I'm staying at the Royal Kostas, leaving today, yippee do. I haven't stayed at the Summer Dream for a couple of years. When I spoke to the owner last year he wasn't sure he was opening as he couldn't get staff, I didn't bother comntacting them this year as I got a good deal with Thomson for the Kostas. I've stayed at Hotel Elsa aswell, Elsa and Makis are nice people. Have a goby iaitch - Halkidiki

Mancrunch The Akrogiali is up the side road between the Nefeli and Aypa, don't know much about it but have eaten in the restaurant and the food is ok. I emailed the Summer Dream yesterday to find out their availability but no reply yet. Regards.by iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Polichrono, booking direct - 14 years ago
Phil I went to the Summer Dream last year in June, they only opened June, July and August last year. The hotel was up for sale last year but I know they had had offers from travel companies for the rooms. Probably the best place I've stayed at in Polichrono. Mancrunch The Elsa Hotel in Polichrono is ok, its about 200 yrads further along the road from the Summer Dream. Regards.by iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Prices at Polychrono - 14 years ago
Lush Here's some of the restaurants that I've used:- Nefeli - its on the corner of the road to the right of the road marked number 9. Akrogiali - its hundred yards up the road between the Nefeli and the Aypa. Tulip and Georges - Georges is about 50 yards on the right up the road marked with number 9, the Tulip is about another 50 yards further on the left. Flegra, Gallini and Vivaby iaitch - Halkidiki

Re: Prices at Polychrono - 14 years ago
Tweddette Beer prices vary quite a bit, for example a large beer in the Laska bar (on the sea front) is 3.50 walk a couple of hundred yards around the corner to the Three Lions and its 2.50 then go up the backstreets and its less tha 2.00 in the gyros places. Sprits are about 5 to 7 euros and cocktails 6 to 8 euros. Food is good in Polichrono, been going 9 years and can say I've never had aby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Polichrono - 14 years ago
Norman Its along the road opposite the big supermarket on the corner. Its at the end of a row of shops opposite the smaller supermarket. Been to Polichrono many years but never eaten there but gave it a go last month, its ok. Regards. Ianby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Georges bar - 14 years ago
Janet I've never eaten in Georges Restaurant, I'm always walking past it towards rthe Tulip. Sorry no contact details but the place always seems to have plenty of customers especially the locals so can't be too bad I suppose. Regards. Ianby iaitch - Halkidiki

Jane If you're on the seafront then its up the road between the Gallini restaurant and Planet Gyros. If you're at the village square its the road opposite the Posidonio hotel, theres a closed pizza restaurant on the corner. Have a good one. Ianby iaitch - Halkidiki

Re: BEACHES NEAR KOSTAS APARTMENTS - 14 years ago
Tanya Seen a few posts from you asking about Polichrono etc. Royal Kostas are nice apartments with a small swimming pool. They are situated behind some buildings just off the main road at the top of the village. If you cross the road and walk down hill then you'll get to the beach in about 5 minutes. There are many supermarkets if you need supplies etc. The beach at Poilchrono is ok (sandby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Map of Polichrono ??? - 15 years ago
Paul Polichrono is a quiet laid back resort. There's a musoc bar at either end of the half mile beach. Laska bar has Sky Spoorts, karaoke, live music. Tropicla is a music bar with a dance floor. In betwenn the bars, along the front, theres a mixture of restaurants from Greek to pizza/pasta to fast food, so you should find something to your liking. Also go up the sidestreets as there areby iaitch - Halkidiki
