Re: Map of Polichrono ??? - 15 years ago
Reepicheep Most of the restaurants and bars are on the seafront but there are plenty up the sidestreets. Polichrono is not that big and you should be able to discover them. If you get lost then just head downhil, towards the seafronyt and start again.by iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: polichrono - 15 years ago
Noman Looking to be there from Friday 12 June for a couple of weeks. Flying BA for £160 and staying at the Summer Dream for around EUR 45 a night including breakfast. May be a bit expensive but I get a room to myself and the facilities are very good including a swimmimg pool. Also I can avoid thursdays which is usually chaotic at the airport. Usually go to the Tulip 3 to 4 times as the fooby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: polichrono - 15 years ago
Norman I went again first week of september but didn't go in the Golden Bar. Went in Nemos for the first time though, one step at a time. Looking to book for next year in June, flying BA for about £160 and stay at the Summer Dream Hotel but haven't been advised when they will be opening next summer. Not many changes but there seem to be more and more fast food/giros places opening up buby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Policrono - 15 years ago
The only one is next at the bus stop on the main road that goes to Hanioti. I tried it this year bit it wasn't working. There are other threads on this forum which have said that it doesn't work for British cards.by iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: royal kostas - 15 years ago
Claire30 The Kostas are just off the main road that runs past Polichrono. If you are coming from Kalithea there's a junction with a set of traffic lights. There's a small turning on the right, I think there a medical place of some sorts by the turning, the apartments are about 50 yards down this road.. If you turn left at the junction the road leads down to the seafront, there's a supeby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Where to go in Halkidiki - 15 years ago
Hi Scorpios Try Polichrono, I've been about 12 times in the last 8/9 years and can't get enough of it. I wouldn' say its bustling but its not a huge resort either. Its fairly laid back but has plenty of restaurants of all types (Greek, pizza/pasta. fast food etc) and a few bars. Most of them are along the seafront but there's others up the side streets. Each end of the beach there'by iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: polichrono/kostas - 15 years ago
Draught beers on the seafront are 2.50/3.00 euros but if you go away fronm the front you can get them for around 2.00. You can get a good meal for around 10.00 but again you can get cheaper.by iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: polichrono - 15 years ago
Norman Sorry was being a bit thick, I know where the Golden Bar is, I pass it all the time on the way to the Laska. Its just that I've never been in. Usually start at the Laska then go for some food and have the last drink in the Laska on the way home. I'll give it a go in September. Also never been to Nemo's, might give that a bash aswell, any reviews on that? It appears that I am aby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: polichrono - 15 years ago
Norman Been twice to Polichrono already and off again in September, sorry to make you jealous. Always go to the Tulip, good meals at a good price. The place always seems to have plenty of customers. Where's the Golden Bar? Must have missed that one although I've been about 12 times in the last 8 years or so. Ianby iaitch - Halkidiki

Re: Can you recommend anywhere? - 15 years ago
Carole Yes its difficult to fimd any companies that will take singles. I was looking a coupl,e of months ago and got a pretty good quote from Manos for single accommodation in Polichrono. Last couple of years I've booked separate flights and hotel andit all worked out ok. One benefit I found was that they fly every day of the week so took the opportunity of avoiding Thursdays, that when allby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Can you recommend anywhere? - 15 years ago
Carole Try Polichrono, its a laid back resort, plenty of restaurants, good beach. Summer Dream Hotel is a small famiy run hotel, AC, swimming pool, good sized rooms. Check out their website. Ianby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Polichrono Accommodation - 15 years ago
Hazel AC is free, its a good hotel. Just checked a few others in Polichrono, I'm assuming you're going July/August, using this link Hotel Odysseas is EUR 72 for a double room with AC. Hotel Jean Marie EUR 60 to 65 Polichrono Beach Hotel EUR 80 to 95 So the Summer Dreams price is pretty good bearing in mind you would have to pay for a taxi on top of the above prices.by iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Kostas Apartments - Polichrono - 15 years ago
Philippa Stayed at the Kostas a few years ago and don't recall there being a toaster, in fact I've never seen a toaster in any accommodation I've been to in Greece. Bathrooms in Greece tend to be a sink, toilet and shower, welll thats all we had in the studio/double apartment I stayed in.. Pool is ok in size, I suppose it depends on how many people are using it at the time. There's aby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Transfer to Polichrono - 15 years ago
Dee By coach it anything from 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on the number of drops. The hotel I stay at picks you up from the airport and takes around 1 hour although that was really hammering it!! Checkd the speed signs on one trip, 70km it said, checked the speedo in the car 120km thats why it took an hour. Have fun. Ianby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Polichrono Accommodation - 15 years ago
Re my message above, I forgot to add that they pick you up and take you back to the airport which is all included in the price. Ianby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Polichrono Accommodation - 15 years ago
Try the Summer Dream Hotel, here's the link Good sized rooms, AC, swimming pool, 5 minutes to the beech, nice family run place. Stayed there the last two years, doesn't open until 1st June though. If you go tell Tasos I recommended it, might get a discount haha. Regards. Ianby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Royal Kosta's Polichrono - 16 years ago
Blankie Polichrono is a quiet laid back resort, there a music bar at each end of the beach but most of the nightlife centres around the restaurants. There's a fair selection of restauarants along the sea front and up the side streets from Greek, Pizza, Pasta, fast food and also the Cockney Cafe if you need some good old english grub. . Beach is sand an shingle and about half a mile long witby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Ammos Studios - 16 years ago
Rachel Not stayed at the Ammos. Went to Polichrono last year, last week of June/first week in July, never known it so hot 40 odd degrees, phew what a scorcher. Mind you that was the hottest I've known it, usually warm enough during the summer. Polichrono is a laid back low key resort. There's a music bar at each end of the beach but most of the nightlife centres around the restaurants aby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Kostas Apartments - Polichrono - 16 years ago
Hello Nannatee Polichrono is a quiet, relaxed resort thats why I enjoy going back each year. The apartments are on flat ground but you have to go downhill to get to any restaurants and the beech, there's nothing around the apartments. Wherever you stay inPolichrono you will have the walk uphill as the only flat area is I've stayed in two different block at the Kostas, the first one hadby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Polychrono - 16 years ago
Holey Been to Polichrono about a dozen times in the last 7 years, never stayed at the Fanis but there are plenty of threads on the forum that sing its praises for the facilities and the friendliness of the family who run it.. The apartments are locatted on the beach front between the Laska Bar (music. karaoke, sky sports) and a pizza restaurant. Go past the pizza place and theres a range ofby iaitch - Halkidiki

Re: Kostas Apartments - Polichrono - 16 years ago
Most of the restaurants are on the sea front which is about a 5 minute walk downhill but there are plenty of other up the sideroads and backstreets. The apartments are behind some buildings on the main road through Polichrono, there are traffic lights on the crossing so you shouldn't have any problems geting across. Re: ROYAL KOSTAS APARTMENTS - 16 years ago
Royal Kostas are very good apartments. Stayed there a couple of times and have no complaints. There's three or four two storey blocks around the swimming pool. Its just off the main road at the top of the village and is about a 5-10 minute walk down to the seafront. Beech is sand/shingle. its narrow but stretches the full length of the resort. Promenade is lined with restaurants from traditionalby iaitch - Halkidiki
