Re: ammos studios in polychrono - 16 years ago
Lucy I went to Polichrono for the first time seven years ago and have been back every year since. Can't get enough of the place. I was there in June and am going back again in September. Staying at the Summer Dream Hotel (www.summer-dream.gr), good quality rooms with aircon and they also pick you up from the airport free of charge. BA also fly every day to Thessaloniki so the benefit is thaby iaitch - Halkidiki

Lucy Hanioti is a 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk from Polichrono. There a cashpoint on the main road by the traficlights and bus shelter. Polichrono is mainly a couples/family resort iand is fairly quiet and laid back with a variety of restaurants from traditiuonal greek to pizza/pasta to fast food. There's a couple of music bars at each end of the prom, The Tropical or The Laska Bar.by iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Sterling Vs Euro travellers cheques - 16 years ago
Lisa Never stayed at the Fanis but they seem to be highly recommended judhing by the posts on this forum. The apartments are right on the seafront about 5 yards from the beach. Just to the left as you come out in the Laska Bar which has satellite tv/music/karaoke etc if thats your thing. Can't tell you anything about the public transport as I never seem to get out of Polichrono. I've walkedby iaitch - Halkidiki

Lisa I've taken both sterling and euro cheques in the past and have not had any problems with either. Where are you staying in Polochrono? I came back last monday and have booked again for September, love the place. Regards. Ianby iaitch - Halkidiki

Re: polyichrono mid june 2007 - 16 years ago
Not sure about the wine prices as I don't drink it!! More info: two beds and an umbrella on the beach was EUR 8 last year. Been in most of the restauarants along the seafront, nothing bad to say about any of them. The prices are pretty much the same Try the Tulip which is up one of the side streets next to the Gallini Restaurant.by iaitch - Halkidiki

Been to Polichrono for the last 6 years, back again at the end of June. Its a laid back resort with a couple of music bars/pubs but mostly all the nightlife centres around the cafes/restaurants. Never been out of Polichrono but understand Hanioti is a bit livelier, its only 5 minutes in a cab. Seems to be more and more east europeans and the prices have dropped in the last couple of years.by iaitch - Halkidiki

Re: HALKIDIKI ASK YOUR QUESTIONS - 16 years ago
I've been to Polichrono for the last 6 years and its good value for money. Beers are around EUR 2.50/3.00. Two sun beds and an umbrella for the day is EUR 8. Prices in the restauarants are about the same everywhere, pay around EUR 20 for a meal for two. Polichrono is a fairly laid back resort with a couple of music bars but most of the activity is in the cafes/restaurants. Seem to be more aby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: whats the transfer like from the airport to polichrono - 16 years ago
There's a couple of exchange places on the road by the town square. There is one place virtually opposite the Hotel Posidonio and another further down the road or as Steve points out there is a cash machine by the traffic lights on the main road as you turn into Polichrono.by iaitch - Halkidiki

Trev I'll be leaving because theres too much sunshine and the temperature is getting a bit too hot for me. Probably go back again in September. I'm sure you'll pick up the pace or should I say decrease your pace to the Greek way of doing things. Have a good one. Ianby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Transfer to Polichrono - 17 years ago
Trev I've been to Polichrono the last 6/7 years, probably about 12 times so you get the impression that I like the place. I've been to Kefalonia, Crete and Kos but Polichrono is the place for me now. I've stayed at the Royal Kostas a couple of times and they are some of the best I've been to in Greece. When you cross the main road head straight down the road towards the beach, you will seeby iaitch - Halkidiki

Trev Have a look at the Summer Dream Hotel in Polichrono, www.summer-dream.gr. It has 21 rooms, swimming pool, 5 minutes from the beach and bars, aircon at no extra charge, breakfast included.. Stayed there twice last year, good service, nice friendly people. The selling point for me was that they pick you up from and take you back to the airport at no extra cost. Ianby iaitch - Halkidiki
Re: Ammos or Fanis in Polychrono - 17 years ago
Been to Polichrono about 10 times in the last 6 years, you get the impression that I like it. Stayed at various apartments/hotels. This year went two weeks in June and a week in September and stayed at the Summer Dream hotel, only 21 rooms, good standard of accomodation, air conditioning (no extra charge), swimmimg pool, 5mins from beach and the seafront with all its tavernas etc. Added bonus isby iaitch - Halkidiki
