I could 't agree more with Diane's description of Vourvourou and Nikiti.It depends on what type of vacation you're looking for. If you rent a car as you say, you can combine both types by staying in one place and visit the other since the distance between the two is about 15-20km.

Hi, Sea urchins can be found only on rocky bottom. So if you are afraid of sea urchins stay on sandy areas. By the way, if you find sea urchins then be sure that waters are 100% clear (unpolluted).

Try Kaimaktsalan. It is close to Thessaloniki. Their web page (www.kaimaktsalan.gr) is only in Greek but you can get an idea about the area (there are also live images on the frontpage). As for accommodation, search on google for "kaimaktsalan hotels"

Hi Phil, weather station is located in Vourvourou, Sithonia. It shows the current weather conditions (updated hourly - no adsl there yet) and also weather tendency.

Have a look at Porto Carras (www.portocarras.gr). According to their web site they offer this kind of service. Distance between Porto Carras and Vourvourou is ~30 km.

No, there is not ferry connection between Ouranoupolis and Nikiti. You will have to hire a car or taxi.

It is about 2 - 2,5 hours driving. You will have to drive from Hanioti to Nea Moudania, from there follow the road to Sithonia - Poligiros, and from there to Ouranoupolis (a map is required).
