Michalis is the captain of the best pirate boat trip and if you are staying in hanioti you should be able to book it in the in the shop just off the village square. Or direct with him, I think he sets off from Polichrono. The sunset cruise is lovely for couples.by joanne - Halkidiki

Re: Beaches on Kassandra - 17 years ago
Hi Stewart there are lots of secluded areas. Cant recommend anywhere in particular, so it will be just a case of turning off the road wherever possible. But the whole peninsular is about as big as the Isle of Wight so wont be too difficult.by joanne - Halkidiki

Re: Chrousso Village Latest Ratings!!!! - 17 years ago
Yay Fiona, some really good comments. Your right if you want chips and roast dinners go to benidorm or butlins. Paliori is very beautiful, the beach is georgous, and the village itself very typically greek. We lived and worked in Hanioti for a year, and this year we are going out for three weeks, love the whole area and it wll be nice to be tourists again. We have a house out there which weby joanne - Halkidiki
Re: Strand Village Apartments - 17 years ago
This is greece, the weather will be hot, there is nowhere in particular you should stay away from and the natives are very friendly. There are lots of nice places to eat and a very wide variety. In short the holiday will be what you make it. So I am sure you will have a lovely time.by joanne - Halkidiki
Re: hanioti nightlife - 17 years ago
No Nos at Pefkahori is good. There is a big outdoor bar with music and then the big indoor dance area. Between 12 and 1 is when it starts to get busy. There is Bubbles in Kriopigi. There are three big nightclubs near Kailthea, ask your rep to point them out on the way from the airport. So if your a bit adventurous there should be plenty to keep you entertained.by joanne - Halkidiki
Re: Polichrono Beach - 17 years ago
Hi Bill, the beach stretches all the way along the coast to the neighboring villages, it is sandy in some places shingle in others. Yes it will be easy to find your own quiet spot, so good idea to get a parasol and cool bag. Regards Joanneby joanne - Halkidiki

Re: Car hire from the airport - 17 years ago
We used Avis back in March at the airport the price was really good we paid by visa debit card at the Avis desk. The price was very good, but I should think it will vary depending on month. Call Avis direct they should be able to quote you.by joanne - Halkidiki
Re: Weather - 17 years ago
Keep watching this sight for Sakis weather reports. He is our very own weather man, Micheal Fish eat your heart out. Sakis gives weather forcast for kriopigi, which pretty much does it for the whole area, as its about as big as Isle of Wight.by joanne - Halkidiki

Hi Kerry the flights with ba are excellent value and all year now, which means we get to visit Hanioti for St Georges day yeah. Ooh and maybe january for the snow. Only one bar open though, Paralio its the locals local. We loved Hanioti so much we bought a house there, but sadly back in England now. If you know of families who travel independantly and would like accomodation please put usby joanne - Halkidiki

Hi Laki there are lots of good retaurants to try, my best is The Old Tavern for greek just past the Pella hotel, or Pirates down by the church yumby joanne - Halkidiki
Re: Jobs - Kassandra - 17 years ago
There will be plenty of work in the summer, you can earn 30 to 40 euros a day, but usually long hours and 7 days a week, not as easy as living and working in England. Your daughter will need a private tutor to teach her greek, this is expensive and they are hard to find. Whatever her age she will be put in an infant class until she knows the language. If she were greek in Engalnd the school wouby joanne - Halkidiki

I am sure there must be a beach area there, cant remember only been the once. They say Sithonia has some really lovely beaches. But ask the locals in hanioti, for more info. Marmaris is very nice and geared up for tourists, worth a look anyway. Strongly advise air conditioned car though.by joanne - Halkidiki
Re: Golf - 17 years ago
May be a bit of a tek for the golf. Nea Marmaris is on the next leg. So about a hour and a half drive. If you are hiring a car though if its not too hor marmaris is lovely.by joanne - Halkidiki
