Re: Help - we're new!!! - 16 years ago
Hi there Erdington 3 - just thought I'd put in my tuppence worth in. Firstly I have heard good things about both of these hotels. Yes the pool sizes are different but the way I see it you can use any pool in any hotel as long as you buy something the owners are usually ok, business is business. Tropical is right next to the main road so I would be quite careful about which room you wilby joanne - Halkidiki
Re: hot goblin - 16 years ago
I'm with you Pedro and Jamie Lee is an okay guy. We cant all be cheery little souls all the time. Everybody works lots of hours through the summer, and lets face it some tourists are not the happiest people lolby joanne - Halkidiki
Re: The truth about dogs in Halkidiki - 16 years ago
Hi Jane have you tried the pet shop in Pefkohori, may be another long shot but worth a try, the couple there are very nice. I think it is the only pet shop, near the Hanioti end of town. Your right in the summer things dont look so bad for the dogs and you dont notice them so much. But to live there in the winter is so different. Its a pity the people dont care as much for their animby joanne - Halkidiki
Re: Horseshoe bar - 16 years ago
Hi Rosemary yes they still run that bar, but not sure that they stay in Hanioti for the winter. Or like most bar owners return to the city .......Joanneby joanne - Halkidiki
Re: Hanioti Ceramics - 16 years ago
Hi there we also bought 2 lovely bronze looking ceramic statues, he also sells some lovely masks. If it is the same guy he was there last year. Cant remember his name, but his brother runs the little kiddies cars just up from the square. The shop is very small and up one of the side streets just off the square. Hope this helps Joanneby joanne - Halkidiki

Re: going to fourka, whats to do? - 16 years ago
Hi again Jims right not alot to look at until you get onto kassandra - once you go across the canal I mentioned the views get a bit more interesting. Take a bottle of water on the coach, hopefully you wont have too many stops before yours. On a clear day as you get towards Moudania I think, you can see Mount Olympus on the right hand side.................have a great time ps dont be temby joanne - Halkidiki
Re: Halkidiki/Polichrono - 16 years ago
Hi Nightowl if you look at the map of Kassandra which is the first leg of Halkidiki on this site. At the area called Potidea there is a canal which actually does cut Kassandra off from the mainland making it an Island. So even though Polichrono is not an Island Kassandria is ................not alot of people know that ........lolby joanne - Halkidiki
Re: Is "OLYMPIC KOSMAS" good enough? - 16 years ago
Posted on: 20 August 2007, 7:30 Save I've spent a week in the beginning of August 2007 in Olympic Cosmas. I cannot really understand why people post negative comments about it. Before going there I had read disgusting things about it only, and I was really positively surprised to find out that none of these comments reflect the real state of things there. The rooms are clean, people are realby joanne - Halkidiki

Re: Trips - 16 years ago
The water park is near the airport - about 1hour 15 minutes on the road to Salonica, and signposted somewhere after Misi Meri. It is great for younger kids but not up to what you may find in Spain, we have been once and would not bother againby joanne - Halkidiki
Re: Hanioti in August??? - 16 years ago
Some good advice for keeping cool and a good nights sleep - party till the early hours with lots of drink - this knocks you out and you dont notice the heat - or take a long cold shower before bed -by joanne - Halkidiki
Re: Trips - 16 years ago
Hi Carole I would'nt do the trip to Salonica, like you say it would be far too hot. A good trip to look out for would be the sunshine cruise, on a pirate ship which I am sure you will both enjoy. Joanneby joanne - Halkidiki
