the country inn is on the back road from kallithea to afitos. kallithea is closer to the hotel, this resort is a lot busier with plenty of restaurants and shops. Afitos about a couple of kilometers away but the road is quiet so an easy walk and there is a taxi rank in afitos so you can get a taxi back for a few euros. Afitos is a traditional greek village, very quant but can get busier in theby SHOEY657 - Halkidiki

He does get busy in the height of season so i suggest you book prior to your holiday though if it is only for a few days you require the car he can often accomodaby SHOEY657 - Halkidiki
Re: Afitos web cam - 15 years ago
HI Not heard of an webcam in Afitos. Can't you wait until August? I guess you will be visiting in August as well. May is a lovely time of year the weather should be starting to get warm and a little cooler at night but still pleasent. We will be around so hope to see you for a drink. Nice to see Dan is still wanting to go away with you, still i guess you are paying so that helps, .by SHOEY657 - Halkidiki
Re: Kassandra this weekend? Nostos Hotel? - 15 years ago
Graham The nostos is situated on the back road between afitos and kalathea, so it should be quiet, though the main road on friday and sunday can get very busy, the hotel is great so no worries there. Kalathea is closer than afitos an easy walk even in the heat. Afitos is about 2 kilometres away maybe a little further taxi will only cost you a few euros. Yet to find a bad restaurant in afitosby SHOEY657 - Halkidiki

Re: Ideal place to stay in Halkidiki? Help please!!!! - 15 years ago
I think the country inn hotel is on the main road i am not too sure i will check when i am over next week, if i have time i will have a nose around. Thomas cook vouchers! do they go to the nostos nearer to kalathea than afitos but a lovely hotel. Surely if you book thomas cook they won't drop you 90 minutes from the hotel! Re: Trance music in Pefkohori area? - 15 years ago
Biker babe Don't worry you will find the peoply very friendly in Halkidiki. Halkidiki is something very special and i am sure you will have a great holiday. Hey all our music tastes are different wouldn't it be boring if we all listened to Barry Manalow, (sorry Barry, or any fans out there, i think you know what i mean). Pefkohori is a lovely village, enjoy Philby SHOEY657 - Halkidiki

Re: Afitos-Achtis Hotel - 15 years ago
Hi You don't mention what time of the year you are travelling. Afitos is a very traditional greek village but can get very busy in august. there is a lovely sandy beach with other more rocky areas within easy walking distance though you will have an uphill walk to get back to the achtis. The achtis is a recently built hotel which is lovely and extremely well run by Magda and Achillis, 2 ofby SHOEY657 - Halkidiki
Re: Diving near Afitos? - 15 years ago
Hi There is a dive school called the Odyssey dive Club which operates in halkidiki, if you type this in google you should find more information. I believe they operate at the end of the kassandra peninsula but very easy to get to if you have a carby SHOEY657 - Halkidiki
Re: CAB FROM AIRPORT TO HANIOTI - 15 years ago
Yes with easyjet and BA you need to book in advance great for next year, rather than use the big car companies if you use one of the local companies like kriopigi cars the money you will save by booking direct will pay for this. i fly from gatwick where easyjet have just added the gatwick thessoloniki route so hopefully they will follow with the manchester route.by SHOEY657 - Halkidiki
Re: CAB FROM AIRPORT TO HANIOTI - 15 years ago
Harvey Strange i e-mailed Greg and i received an answer within a few hours, i suggest you retry as i thought what a good response. Bunny You now have a good choice of airlines flying into thessoloniki and with the introduction of easyjet good deals to be have, hiring a car for 1 or 2 weeks is quite reasonable so this will save on the cost of transportation to the hotel or apartment, a 5 seaterby SHOEY657 - Halkidiki
Re: Car hire - 15 years ago

Re: Stamos Hotel Afitos - 15 years ago
Hi Blankie I think i remember that you stayed in the zeus before! If you pass the taxi rank then the school on the left as you walk away from the village toward the Zeus rather than going round the right hand bend you carry on straight near the school, pass the shop on the left and the stamos is 50 yards on the right.. Have a good holidayby SHOEY657 - Halkidiki
Re: A few questions about Afitos - 15 years ago

Re: exchange rate.... - 16 years ago
If you have a nationwide account in both of your names make sure you check what account they take the money out of. I have had a few mistakes lately. the only good thing is they took the money out of my wifes account rather than mine so not all bad.by SHOEY657 - Halkidiki
