Re: Food and Drink Prices - 16 years ago
I must say that I found the meals pretty cheap but the drinks quite expensive compared to other Greek areas that I have visited. Soft drinks were steep IMO. When we (4 adults and 2 kids) had an evening meal the price was almost half food and half drinks!by PhilCCFC - Halkidiki
Re: Baked Spicy Feta - 16 years ago
That's the one Sakis, many thanks. On the menu it was a word beginning with B, does this ring any bells with you?by PhilCCFC - Halkidiki
Baked Spicy Feta - 16 years ago
Long shot here but we had a starter a few times on holiday which is a baked spicy feta, in the Garden and Arhontiko. Does anyone know what the greek name for this dish is so that I can find a recipe for it? Many thanks if you can help.by PhilCCFC - Halkidiki
Re: Hanioti restaurants - 16 years ago
Arhontiko is still excellent food as is the Garden. If you want good Italian food then avoid Gusto, terrible food and service on the day we went. Anatol is the place for Italian food now.by PhilCCFC - Halkidiki
Re: Niriides Apartments - 16 years ago
The Nireides are excellent. The family that run the hotel are lovely, Milo is a star..."do you know Brighton?" Rooms are a good size, cleaners come in most days to clear out the bins and the Air con is free. Only one downer for me about this place was the karaoke on a Tuesday night, I'm not totally against it but please Mark find the volume control. "ASK THE LOCAL VILLAGE PEOPLE" Yep they're easy to spot you'll see one of them wearing a constrution workers outfit, one dressed as an Indian....sorry Sherrilyn, couldn't resist!by PhilCCFC - Halkidiki
Re: Nappies in Hanioti - 16 years ago
Thanks Sherrilyn. I hate asking these sorts of daft sounding questions because we are pretty well travelled but the last time we were in Hanioti and our 20 odd month old son was still in nappies, one of the locals said that they usually get their kids out of nappies much earlier than we do! We took plenty of our own on that occassion so had no reason to look for them but it did get us wondering wby PhilCCFC - Halkidiki
Nappies in Hanioti - 16 years ago
Do the supermarkets sell a good range of nappies in Hanioti? (11 to 18 kilogram) We'll bring a few to get us by but with the ever reducing weight restrictions on flights we wouldn't mind just buying them in the resort. We usually send them in the hold with our cases but if we can get rid of this hassle them all well and good.by PhilCCFC - Halkidiki

Re: Sterling Vs Euro travellers cheques - 16 years ago
Same here Phil, I also take a Visa along just in case the machines aren't working. My wife also takes her cards just incase I lose mine! If people have the chance to do so then it's worth getting a Nationwide bank account as they do not charge you to use your card abroad unlike many more banks.by PhilCCFC - Halkidiki

Re: Naias & Lesse Hanioti - 16 years ago
Thanks very much for the info Mark, sorry but it's been a couple of years since we went to Hanioti. Past the Central Cafe and left, is that towards the kids park?by PhilCCFC - Halkidiki
Re: Naias & Lesse Hanioti - 16 years ago

Re: Quick Help Please! Tropical or Lesse - 16 years ago
Just read the comments re the Lesse being quite a distance from the centre of Hanioti so it's just information on the suitability of the Tropical Apartments needed now please? Is it noisy at night?by PhilCCFC - Halkidiki
Quick Help Please! Tropical or Lesse - 16 years ago
We are coming over to stay in the Niriides Apartments shortly and my parents have now decided to come along too but there's no space left in the same apartments. Question is are the Tropical or Lesse central to Hanioti and are they any good? My Mum is currently going through Chemotherapy so we don't want her to have too far to walk really. Thanks.by PhilCCFC - Halkidiki
Re: Naias & Lesse Hanioti - 16 years ago
Robby, First Choice say that it's "Just 500m from Hanioti’s sandy beach and 250m from its shops, bars and restaurants." and that it's a new hotel. One last hint from them is "Public bus service 100m away." No map reference sadly.by PhilCCFC - Halkidiki

Just paid for our holiday, 8 weeks to go! Second visit to Hanioti, we always vowed never to go back to a place more than once because there are so many places to go and see these days but we just had to go back to Hanioti...for my 40th as well!by PhilCCFC - Halkidiki
Re: Motorbike test - 16 years ago
I doubt it, you would have to take a seperate car test so I assume it's the same for bike's.by PhilCCFC - Halkidiki
