Hiya

I'm going to Hanioti next year and my husband has a nut allergy can anyone tell me how you say '' i'm allergic to nuts & does this have any nuts in''. Also can anyone tell me where the nearest hospital is, i'm not planning on him having a reaction but if he does he need's adrenaline injected fast he has an epi-pen to buy him time but does anyone know if the medical centre's will have this or will he have to travel to Thessaloniki.

Any information on this will be most appreciated just to put my mind at rest

Thanks
Sarah xx

Hi Sarah L
I hope that helps

a) - '' i'm allergic to nuts in Greek =
ime alergikόs stούs xiroύs karpoύs. And in Greek
Είμαι αλλεργικός στους ξηρούς καρπούς παρακαλώ ;

b) - does this have any nuts in'
echi mesa kathόlou xiroύs karpoύs.? And in Greek
Έχει μέσα καθόλου ξηρούς καρπούς παρακαλώ ;

c) -The nearest hospital is in poligiros about 80 km from Hanioti ,almost an hour on a normal day,
more than 2 hours on summer weekends.
d) -The nearest health center is in Kassandria 20 km from Hanioti, 20 min on a nomal day,more
than 40 min on summer weekends and there is no need to travel to Thessaloniki.
Spoke with Health center in Kassandria on 2374023950 today,they told me that they
do have adrenaline injections but they suggest that you must have an epi-pen with
you!!

e) -Here is a small list of things he MUST AVOID !!
-Houmous (starter)
-Baklava
-Kataifi
-Mixed Ice cream
-Yogurt with honey (In a few restaurants only)
-Almond and Chocolate cakes

f) -Here is a small list of Greek food WITHOUT nuts:
-Tzatziki
-Taramosalata
-Mousaka
-Stifado
-Stuffed Peppers & Tomatoes
-Keftedes as well as all the grilled Greek Specialities like Souvlaki, Gyros, Bifteki
Pork chops , Lamb chops.
By the way THERE ARE NO NUTS IN THE OUZO so........... Yiammas (cheers)!!
I’m sure that you are going to have a great holiday in Halkidiki !!

Hi - good idea to use online translator dictionary.com - type in phrases you want and it will be put into language of your choice -you can cut and paste from this to a word document and take it with you. steve
