What happened to the Hot Goblin Chippy???
We have just returned from our second holiday in hanioti and was disappointed to find it starting to be turned into a pizza shop.
There are loads of Italian restaurants surely a chippy was something different.
All right you dont want chips every night on holiday, however once a week was a okay.
The chips were gorgeous!!!!
Bring back the Hot Goblin Chippy!
I did hear that the owner was going into casinos or something is this right?
There was some chinese whispers going round at the Lesse last week about this.
I hope they dont sell the Hot Goblin Spud place there lovely too.

yeah, bring back the chippy. did you know it's a greek delacasie. if thats how you spell it....
theres a great fish and cip shop in Thessaloniki. right by the harbour.. john

The chippy was advertised for sale on here last year,have no idea if the rumours are true about casinos & stuff but i agree i hope they don't sell the spud place,i worked there years ago(before Leigh got it) & it was always packed out!Wouldn't pay too much attention to the chinese whispers........Greeks love a good gossip haha x

yes they do do excellent value for money spuds!!! did you work at the spud place when kostas and effie were the owners-effie was a real character- have been going to hanioti for 15 years now stay with our greek friends thanasis and menia fantastic friends, they own the central cafe in the square-- excellent coffee in large cups, and first class full english with hp brown sauce all for 5.5 euro. .anyone calling in at the central could you be kind enough tp pass on our best wishes.

I worked there when Effie & Gregory had it,Kostas was their son & was back in Australia when i was there.Yes Effie was a character but i don't think i remember her as the same character you do...............BIG difference between being a customer & working for her but past is past!!!!!
I've seen you post about the central cafe before & i'll be visiting friends in Hanioti so i might just give it a go & yes i'll pass on your regards.x

the guy sold up as far as i know, his mate also from england runs that place now sellin pizza, loved me baguettes from the hot goblin ha ha well nice, and dis gal from england who was workin that day i wentt there too, tthere were a fair few fit english birds out there this time, im off there again in september
