Petition for animal welfare in Halkidiki

Please go to the link Peter provided and sign this petition. Any help is better than none. And I am sure most of the holidaymakers from the UK are in some way concerned about animal welfare.

Thank you in advance

Thank you Kerrie. I am surprised that we have not had a huge response on this as I am sure most tourists to Greece (and other European countries) would like to see the animals looked after.

Come on everybody, Halkidiki is a beautiful place and you enjoy your holidays there, just give a little thought and support to those working to help the animals enjoy their home too.

hi jane

ok whats the position now ???

can i carry on with my web site and my friend has his own domain and is willing to put it on his as he runs his own buisiness in UK.

i have posted the petition on 3 bikers web sites so i know a lot of bikers care about animals so should get some response from that.

pity we cant get the press in greece to run an article on this man to defame him and show his true being.

speak soon

Not sure Jeff, we need to ask Peter in Austria. Try him on the other link and see what he says.

I am quite impressed at the number of people who have signed the petition so far. Only one horrible comment from someone on a Greek messageboard that I posted to with a request for signatures. He didnt want to get involved and said the UK had its own problems with deliberate animal cruelty. I replied saying that so did Greece, had he not heard of poisoned dogs, hanged cats, donkeys left tied up at the end of their useful life.

Anyway, he didnt respond. Why he had to comment and refuse to sign in the first place I dont know.

Little disapointed in the apparent lack of response on this thread though, you would think most holidaymakers would be interested in the welfare of these dogs. Lets just hope they start responding soon.

Just as a reminder everyone, check out [www.act-of-justice.org] and sign the petition, please........ It is in German and English.

Let me know Jeff what Peter says.

The highlight of this week :

It is terrible, because now begins the vacation-time in greece, and some people begin to telephone Rebecca for helping poor animals. But it is her not allowed to help........

3 days before Jimmy S***** (The man of Thessaloniki, who notified Rebecca at the police) killed one dog in a place in Thessaloniki with an axe, and stole 2 dogs from the place there. The problem is, that this action wasn´t seen direct from anybody. The woman, who found the killed dog was so shoked, that she finished immediately her job there.

I know this stories are unbelievebable, but it´s true.

Peter

Come on everybody who reads this site. You enjoy your holidays in Halkidiki, a beautiful place. You probably have good Greek friends there, we do. BUT please spare a thought for the dogs, and bear in mind that there are bad people the world over and it appears this S****** although Greek is a bad person.

Please go to the link and sign the petition. Please also let Balu know of any cruelty you may come across, via email.

We MUST do something. We all enjoy our holidays in this beautiful part of Greece, but please just give a little thought to the animals that are suffering. As tourists we must protest at this kind of treatment and make it known that we know about it and deplore it.

Please help, Balu has gone to a lot of trouble to get help, lets help him now and the animals of Greece.

Enjoy your holidays.

Well done Jeff ! I cannot imagine how this S****** chap is continuing to do his dirty work. I know loads of Greek people, some like dogs some don't, but NONE of them agree with cruelty and certainly not his type of concentration camp.

Oh, I really do get upset at thoughts of these dogs. It is the same wherever we go though, I always end up worrying about some animal or other. In Thailand it is the elephants as well as the dogs I worry about. In Greece it is the donkeys as well as the dogs.

I will be a nervous wreck soon! I wish I could win the lottery and then I would definitely set up several animal help centres in Europe and further afield. Oh, if only I could get that Euromillions when is it set over £30 million! That would do a bit of good, and I could keep £1million for myself too !!

Keep up the good work. We are out there mid June for three weeks, so I have to console myself that some of the dogs I look after get three weeks of love and food, and probably more if I know most Brits.

Cheers
