We Went to Hotel Achtis In Afitos and it was a pleasure to stay at such a lovely Hotel.
It was build 3 years ago and a lot of time and effort has gone into making it special, with lovely big bright rooms, which includes a fridge, a kettle with cups and glasses, a TV and air condition, a beautiful pool with comfortable pool furniture, and pretty gardens.
They also do an excellent full breakfast buffet, hot and cold and always keep it full.

The Hotel owners Magda en Achillis are always on hand and they will try anything to make your Holiday one to remember, they help with car rental, excursions, bus times, walks etc.
I fell down some steps and badly twisted my ankle the last 3 of our 14 days there and Magda drove us to the restaurant in the village and arranged a time to pick us up.
In all our years of travel and staying at many hotels it was great to find pure unselfish hospitallity again.

The Village of Afitos is real Greek with lots of little streets and shops, Icecream parlours, snacbar with the lovely very filling Giro's for a cheap lunch and a dozen Taverna's, all very good and all with a free Ouzo, a Village Square and Church with a choice of Bars from day dreaming and watching the world go by, to lovely Cocktail Bar where you can sip a different cocktail every night with great service, and even a lively bar with live music for the odd late night,
then it's a 5 minutes walk up a slight hill, back to the hotel for a great Cappucino and Brandy.

The beach is beautiful with warm clear water and the chairs and brollies are free as long as you have a drink, there are no water sports so you can snorkel without being run over.
The only little bad point I need to tell you is that the beach is 30 steps down or 20 min walk on a good road down from the village, as the village is high up with beautiful views over the beach, you can sit in one of the village taverna's , bars or just sit on a bench and enjoy a great sunset.

We are in our 50is but our Daughter and Partner also went there for 2 weeks in the hotter month of August and like us , they loved it and want to return next year, they made many friends among the Griek people in the village and beach bars, and there where many 20-30is couples there just having a great but a bit more traditional holiday.
It's a place for all age who enjoy a lovely beach a great hotel, good Griek hospitallity and making new friends.
We will return..
