Hi - good idea to use online translator dictionary.com - type in phrases you want and it will be put into language of your choice -you can cut and paste from this to a word document and take it with you. steveby Steve - Halkidiki

Re: Best restaurants in Hanioti. - 17 years ago
Hi - I must agree Zorba,s is very traditional - I feel some of the more central are a let down lesse summertime given they are top price ! through the day Kostas fast food is cheap - good value - chicken kebab with chips and a greek salad is known as a " full plate" on his menu board and is about 4 euro - his large bottles of amstel were under 1 euro in may. cheap and cheerfull.by Steve - Halkidiki
Re: Out and about - 17 years ago
HI - CAR HIRE IS A GOOD IDEA TO DRIVE RIGHT ROUND THE PENINSULA AND VISIT ALL OF THE VILLAGES - CAN DO IT EASILY A DAY AND VERY DIFFICULT TO GET LOST. NEVER BEEN TO NEXT PENINSULA MY SELF BUT APPARENTLY NOT A BAD DRIVE ALSO IN A DAY. USE LOCAL BUSES TO VISIT NEA MOUDANIA MARKET (CANT REMEMBER WHICH DAY) CHEERS STEVEby Steve - Halkidiki

Hi true there have been some homes destroyed and we all feel for those involved but tourism is the "life blood" of the region and many local people who rely on income from tourists I am sure are also keen to know the situation. They have a very long winter during which time many live on funds earnt during the summer. We hope people continue to go on their hols to Halkidiki and suby Steve - Halkidiki
