Jane, thank you very much for your posts and I also needed the relaxing atmosphere that Kassandra seems to be great for! so... I am sure some day I will be running back there again I was just surprised with the quietness because I had been told that "Pefkohori is better than Hanioti for young people" and I have been in Polihrono and Hanioti before and had an idea about the atmosphereby Spring - Halkidiki
A Review On Pefkohori ~ September '07 - 16 years ago
Well... I got back from Pefkohori couple days ago after a 10 days holiday... I'd done my homework prior to going there and the tips about where to go out at night, where to eat etc seemed really useful. Our travel agent had told us - pick Pefkohori, it is great for young people! However, she missed out on one "tiny" detail - it might be great when all the bars are working and when thby Spring - Halkidiki
Re: Rubbish in Halkidiki - 16 years ago
Nice topic Jane! Tourists are tourists... and you can not change this kind of behavior in people. It is something we, first of all, learn (or not) from our parents. I suppose the government and environmental institutions should deal with the matter. And... Europe? I have no further comments but I might get back to you on this after I see it with my own eyesby Spring - Halkidiki

Re: fires - 16 years ago
Good that you put up the map cause tourists giving up on their trips is definitely NOT what Greece needs along with the fires! I seriously cant understand what kind of sick mind could do something like that! I hope the fires will be put out soon and that they will find those who set them up!by Spring - Halkidiki
Re: Baked Spicy Feta - 16 years ago

We have these things that we call "djevrek" but I have never tried them sweet until in Greece! with tons of crystal sugar on them (instead of the sesame that you see in this pic) www.mlinolup.co.yu/Slike/Djevrek.gif Can you tell me the Greek name for the thingie?by Spring - Halkidiki
