Re: Vourvourou or Olympiada - 12 years ago
I have been to Vourvourou twice last year. I have never visited Olympiada. Based on my experience, I believe Vourvourou would be a great place for a quiet vacation with small children. The beaches are beautiful with crystal clear water. The small bays are very shallow (good for kids who want to play in the water) and the water was very calm. There are a few nice restaurants on the road leadiby AndrewJohn - Halkidiki

Re: Gerakini - Metamorfosi or Nikiti - 13 years ago
We stayed at Hotel Toroneos, but I would not recommend it. It has a nice pool but the beach nearby is not good. Also, the staff were very rude. They did not resupply the room even when asked and the buffet was empty early in the dinner and they did not put much food out so many people were left with not much to eat early in the dinner. I visited Nikiti last year and it was nice, but there are better beaches. There are plenty of shops and a row of restaurants and bars along the beach. The marina has an excellent Greek restaurant with great fish! I prefer Vourvourou for the beaches and laid back atmosphere, across the peninsula from Nikiti about 20 minutes away. The beaches are beautiful and the water is crystal clear. Thereby AndrewJohn - Halkidiki

Re: Afitos, Kallithea, or Hanioti? - 13 years ago
Thanks Sarah! I live about 2 1/2 hours away and have used most of my vacation time going further away. But, being so close I get to have a lot of short weekend getaways down there. I emailed a couple places to stay but have not heard from any of them yet.by AndrewJohn - Halkidiki

Afitos, Kallithea, or Hanioti? - 13 years ago
Hello! I am looking at visiting the Hanioti or Kallithea area June 10-12 for a short weekend trip. I would like to find a place to stay that is popular with people in their mid 20's to early 30's, does anyone have any suggestions? I also like bars/pubs over clubs, but a good mix of options is always good. any help would be great, thanks!by AndrewJohn - Halkidiki
