Can any one recomend a hotel or s/c appartment in halkidiki.

We are looking for holiday for 2 adults and two children(11/15).end oct 2002. Near sandy beach.

any help for a first time visitor to greece.

End of October is not really a good time to come to Halkidiki as the season finishes arounf 17th Oct and there will be very little open

I have just returned from Halkidiki and the resort is beginning to close down for the season. The weather is also rather unpredictable at this time of year, rain and thunder storms. Sorry to put you off but think your 11 & 15 year old will be bored.

I think the above messages are correct, however the Sithonia peninsula is a really lovely place. In September it was just perfect weather and very quiet. Why don't you try Crete in October another time. It's further south so longer season and more for kids to do and see.
We went to Plakias and Chania, both very nice.
Try "Georges Studios" north of Chania. Car necessary. "Worried"
