Achtis Hotel, Afitos

Returned a couple of weeks ago from this hotel which was fantastic. It is owned by the same people, Magda and Achilles, who own the Stamos Hotel in Afitos. Hotel facilities were brilliant - it is a new 4* hotel which is operated on a bed and breakfast basis and is luxury all the way. We absolutely loved it and the staff were brilliant. Afitos is lovely and as it has a preservation order on the village, is not commercialised and is extremely pretty. We enjoyed meals at the Passage (very good value and excellent service), Soussourada (upmarket and quite expensive but brilliant food), and the Fish Place. Had a bad experience at Gastromia with a dreadful waiter so we didn't go back! Would heartily recommend the Achtis (you can book direct on their website www.achtishotel.com) - you can either have a regular double room or they have fantastic suites with jacuzzi etc. After staying in Hanioti three years' ago and having a good time, Afitos was so much quieter and non-commercialised. We took a trip to Hanioti to look up old haunts and couldn't wait to get back to the tranquility of Afitos!

We also were at the Achtis in Atitos - we were there last 3 weeks in August. We have been going since 1994 to Afytos. We normally stay in Stamos but this year went to the new hotel. We are going back there next week 13/10/05 to a wedding. We are staying with Magda and Achilleas. We love it there - we went three times last year. My favourite bar is the Aristotelous opposite the pancake shop beside the church! We hav emany freinds there now and hope to move there next year

Hi!!!

This summer, i went to the achtis hotel! It was great! we took some friends and in total there were 13 of us!
Last year, we stayed at the stamos and were hoping 2 stay again this yera and argued when we had been booked into the achtis but we loved it! It was alot better! we met some other friends who have an apartment and another english family!
We are hoping to go again with some more friends next year!
Afitos is such a nice village and it is very quiet and safe! We loved going around the village after dinner while the adults talked and we either sat in the square with an ice cream or went round the shops and the arcades in the sprotsbar!
Unfortunately this year there was no watersports on the local beach but there are buses all the time to other towns and villages.
One night we walked along a main road to go go karting, the realising it was a bit longer than we expected (1 hour) we took a cab home!

I loved it in greece this year and would love to go back!!
I would reccoment it to anyone!
