Hi all,
regarding wedding paperwork, firstly, copy all certs and send copies to travel agents wedding dept. copies of picture pages of passports must be certified by a solicitor, these copies along with original certs of birth,[must be full version with parents names, unless sending an adoption cert in which case a short version is adequate] divorce [decree absolute] death [if widowed]or any other change of name doc[ie, if reverted back to maiden name after divorce] must then be sent to be legalised [www,fco.gov.uk will give you the address and up to date charges and downloadable payment form] please be aware this can take 4 weeks, longer if there is a problem.when returned, these then need translating, [ we are using MS ANDROULLA VELIOTOU TEL 020 8337 6093] we were advised by her not to send things to be translated till we have the certificates of no impediment, [ PLEASE NOTE, IF YOU ARE STAYING IN HANIOTI, POLICHRONO,PEFKOHORI,CHROUSSOOR PALIOURI, IN THE BOX MARKED DISTRICT AND COUNTRY, CERT SHOULD STATE MUNICIPALITYOF PALLINI, HALKIDIKI GREECE, if you are staying in SANI,KALITHEA,AFYTOS,KRIOPIGI,NEA MOUDANIA, CERT SHOULD STATE KASSANDRIA, HALKIDIKI, GREECE these have to be applied for not more than 90 days before the RETURN date of travel, these then have to be hung in the register office for 16 days, once you have them, send all docs off to translator, once returned ,copies of translated docs must be sent to weddings dept, ORIGINALS must then be sent to greek consulate to be stamped, [we have read that translator will do a courier service for a fee and possibly do it all or some of it for you, we are going to find out shortly, will keep updating this thread]
copies of full birth certs etc can be ordered from the register office where they were registered.
we are stiil in the process of getting ours sorted, 15 feb we apply for our no impediments so unfortunatley cannot say yet how that goes only give info on what we have been advised or what we have been through till now. we sent ours off to be legalised before we heard about courier service and are glad we did as we had a problem with an adoption cert and it took 12 weeks for it to come back and then we had to send it off again as there was another problem, so if you are at all unsure we would recommend that you do the legalisation sooner rather than later.
we hope this helps all that are a bit frightened by it all [ we were terrified] and if we can help with anything else we will if we can[.we also check private messages everyday]
good luck everyone

hi all,
Androulla does do a courier service, £90 for the full service [legalisation, translation, greek consulate] or £50 + £8.75 vat for her to take them to be stamped at the greek consulate only.
personally, due to the tight timescale after getting no imped certs,[if all paperwork is straightforward] we think its worth the £90 to get it all done and she will get everything back to you in about 14 days. we pick our no impeds up on 18 feb so should get it all back by end of feb. 11 WEEKS AND COUNTING!!!!!!!!
