My fiancee and I are due to fly out for a week on 11th Sept 2006, staying at the Hilltop Hotel in Hanioti. We're just wondering if the fires have affected this hotel or the surrounding areas? We're not planning on cancelling our holidays but just want to know what to expect before we arrive.

Also, any recommendations for good restaurants / pubs / excursions?

Don't wish to worry you, but dont think it exists any longer. just double check with your tour operator to see what they advise. We met some people that had stayed in that hotel and they said it was badly damaged after the monday night fires, and the fires started again on the tuesday.
