We are just back from holidays in Halkidiki. We stayed in hotel Kassandra Palace. All was very fine: the hotel, the surroundings, the weather, the landscape, much to see in Halkidiki, not too touristic. A very surprising part of Greece.

But!!!!!!

We saw on several places that there was see pollution. No problem on beaches in small villages, or on Sithonia.
In front of hotel Kassandra Palace, there is a "pier" where ugly water from the hotel can come in the see. Filtered or not filtered, I don't know. In each case: the stones in the water around the pier are ugly green, and there are ugly green algs driving around in a zone of some 200 meter. When the see was a bit rough, the algs were driving on the waves and came on the beach.
The result of not thinking about the see beautiful environment.

Greek government, or responsables, have to think seriously about wasting their beautiful coast. It is not too late to preserve their so beautiful nature!
