Re: Can't anyone stop.... - 17 years ago
Nikos & the admin team do a pretty good job of keeping a check on these things but i think it's impossible to stop these post appearing in the first place.Even if you could block a particular e-mail address from posting then they'd just use another one so i think the best thing is to keep your eyes open, don't read anything that looks dodgy & go to the home page & contact Nikos to repoby Kerry - Halkidiki
Re: Hand baggage allowance coming home!!!!! - 17 years ago
Cheers for that.Yeah they've been scanning the cases for a few years now anyway.I'm sure they can't have a problem with my bag full of fags seeing as i'm allowed to bring them out of the country anyway!Just thought i'd best check first.xby Kerry - Halkidiki
Hand baggage allowance coming home!!!!! - 17 years ago
O.k so i know what i'm allowed (or rather NOT allowed) to take from U.K airports but usually when i go to Greece i bring my beach bag back with my cigs etc in it & have always been allowed to use that as hand luggage, can anybody tell me what is allowed to be bought through as hand luggage on the way home now please?xby Kerry - Halkidiki
Re: Help needed on passports to halkidiki - 17 years ago
I always thought you had to have 6 months left on it from the return date of your trip to allow for things like if you have an accident & end up in hospital or get arrested or something regardless of which country you're travelling to,you might just be ok seeing as you're going over in 2 weeks,i had to renew mine this year & it only took a short while to come back but not really worth theby Kerry - Halkidiki
Re: Greek men! - 17 years ago
Probably about the same amount as get broken in any other country by any other men!If it's been a long term relationship then yes when it goes wrong it's heartbreaking but if you're talking about a holiday romance that's gone bad near the end of the week/fortnight then it wouldn't be heartbreaking because you really wouldn't be that emotionally involved!xby Kerry - Halkidiki
Re: Hi - new here and would like reccommendations. - 17 years ago
Shiraz They're all nice hotels but asCath says a few of them are quite isolated & others have steep hills up & down to the beach, for somewhere with flat access to beaches you need either Polichrono,Hanioti or Pefkohori, anywhere further up the peninsula has hills,i'd suggest if you haven't already then check sites like holidaysexposed.com & holidaysuncovered.com,these will both give gby Kerry - Halkidiki
Re: Kriopigi information - 17 years ago

Re: i am sick of..... - 17 years ago
Lisa no need to be so defensive,ok you live there,i've lived there too & i have friends that own businesses over there now so i'm well informed about what's gone on there! If you're sick of people telling "lies" then why not be constructive & post your personal experience on here instead of just having a go at people, there are plenty of people who post on this forum who live overby Kerry - Halkidiki
Re: Just got back from Kriopigi - 17 years ago
Ant Not sure about renting a boat but car hire is easy peasy,go to the Akropolis restaurant in Kriopigi & see Sakis!Hanioti not far at all, take you maybe 15 mins to drive there!Kriopigi is a lot quieter than Hanioti ,more bars there but in Kriopigi there are 5 bars to choose from,my fave is Casablanca(hi Ant & Debs) but if you want loud clubbier places the Kalithea is fab & it's onlyby Kerry - Halkidiki
Re: i am sick of..... - 17 years ago
Lisa people aren't really making stuff up,it's worried holiday makers that are wondering whether or not they've wasted their money by booking to go there! Not exactly lies......there HAVE been very bad fires & there HAS been heavy rain, yes it's all clear now but people who haven't visited the area before & don't know any reliable sources of information over there can only go by the informaby Kerry - Halkidiki
Re: working in halkidiki in sept - 17 years ago
Rosie, you'll be pretty hard pushed to find work in Halkidiki in Sept especially to take you through 4 months as the end of the season is 2nd week of October & pretty much the whole peninsula closes & staff generally start leaving as it's quieter near the end of Sept.As Tanya says Thessaloniki is going to be your best bet but only any good if you can speak Greek!Where in Halkidiki are youby Kerry - Halkidiki

Re: weather in September - 17 years ago
Weather has been very unpredictable this year in Halkidiki but generally September is still lovely, nice enough to get a tan & still swim in the sea however it can get chillier in the evenings, not to the point of needing warm clothes just some shirts/tops with sleeves for going to eat out etc! & pack a brolly in case of showers,i was there in Oct last year & the weather was lovely butby Kerry - Halkidiki
Re: kriopigi - 17 years ago
Biba no need to worry i have friends who own businesses in Kriopigi as does Joanne & i have spoken to them over the last few days(after the fires)& although the fires have been devastating Kriopigi did not get caught by it,it was from Polichrono downwards not up,Kriopigi,Kalithea,Afitos were not touched by the fires at all. What is the point of coming on here to ask a question then not belby Kerry - Halkidiki
Re: Just got back from Kriopigi - 17 years ago
Adam the fires have not reached Kriopigi thanffully, such a shame about the other beautiful areas though. The paradise is not the only hotel not dealing with British tour operators this year, many hotels in Kriopigi aren't working with Brit operators & there are a lot of Slovakian,Bulgarian & Greeks using the village.I think the Alkion & Skentos are still open with brit operators but i'dby Kerry - Halkidiki

Re: Just got back from Kriopigi - 17 years ago
Kriopigi beach is a nice hotel,i've been inside a few times, got everything you need, nice pool & onsite shop etc,at top of the hill so no hills to the main stretch of bars/restaurants/shops etc & there is the Kriopigi express(little train)that will take you down to the beach & back up again. Are you British?Asking because that might explain why you can't find it in any brochures as thisby Kerry - Halkidiki

Hi Pasq no Bubbles is in Kalithea but you're not really that far away from it if you don't mind paying for taxi.Hanioti's brilliant resort, different bars for all types some chilled & pretty quiet & others more lively, you'll find a good mix of music, usually something for everyone!by Kerry - Halkidiki
