Re: Royal Kostas Apartments - Monday - 17 years ago
Hi Adrian You can see some of the burnt trees from the back of the apartments, and more from when heading down to the beach and looking back up the hill. It is much worse on the road down to Hanioti. You could also still smell the burn slightly. There was quite a lot of ash in the sea, but you wouldn't know it was ash if you didn't know before - it's just like little bits of seaweed. Re: Driving in Halkidiki - 17 years ago
On the way back up to the airport on the coach on Monday, on the main dual carriageway up the peninsula, the coach driver started beeping his horn frantically, and everyone at the front was talking..... ...on the other side of the dual carriageway was an old couple, miding their own business, tootling along oblivious - IN THE SAME DIRECTION AS US!! Fortunately it was quiet quiet at thatby adrianomeara - Halkidiki
Re: Fire in Kassandra - YOUR REPORTS HERE - try to help other people - 17 years ago
Hi, We arrived back from the Royal Kostas Apartments on Monday 11th September. From the back of the apartments you can see some burnt trees, and still smell it a little. It is much worse on the way down to Hanioti. It only loooks like the trees though and you won't notice much/ if any damage to buildings. There is quite a lot of ash in the sea still, however it is still very clean, aby adrianomeara - Halkidiki
Royal Kostas Apartments - Monday - 17 years ago
Anybody going out to Polichrono next week? We will be there from Monday at the Royal Kostas Aparttments for our honeymoon. First time in the region and really looking forward to it. Any advice? Like where's nice to go? Unfortunately we'll only be there for a week - so most of it will be on the beach :-)by adrianomeara - Halkidiki

Re: Damaged Hotels?? - 17 years ago
Hi, We are travelling over to Polichrono on 4th September, and as it is to be our Honeymoon I wanted to ensure it was special. As you can imagine I am a little concerned as to what we are going to get. I spoke to Thomson at 8.30am this morning (UK time) and they had been told to continue take bookings as normal. They were hoever having at a meeting at 10.30am where an update would be givenby adrianomeara - Halkidiki
Re: hire car - where to go? - 18 years ago
Thanks for your help so far. We have no children - maybe that's what the honeymoons for? ;-) I have drove in Zante before, and found that to be no real problem. Not worried at all about other drivers (it's not my car! just kidding). The only place that was a bit scary to drive was in Benidorm, but that's just like any big city over here with the added attraction of 3 million scootersby adrianomeara - Halkidiki
hire car - where to go? - 18 years ago
Hi, We are going to Polichrono early September, and although we're only going for a relaxing week we may want to hire a car. It will only be for 1-2 days at most. Where do people suggest we go? I think we'd like to go to the waterpark one day, but would imagine there are excursions to there easy enough. I don't want to have to drive too far but dont mind up to a couple of hours at the moby adrianomeara - Halkidiki

Hi Kerri, We just booked a week in a studio at Royal Kostas apartments in Polichrono (4th September) through Thomson.co.uk. It came to about £480 for two people self-catering which I thought was really good. We also got another £20 off the price by quoting hu-henryford in the promotional section of the booking screen. I found it on some website with a video of the apartments. (althouby adrianomeara - Halkidiki

Polichrono - info and Royal Kostas Apartments - 18 years ago
Hi, I am looking at booking to go to the Royal Kostas apartments in Polichrono and have a few questions: 1. What's the area like? Sounds nice. 2. Anyone know what the apaprtments are like? esopecially if you've stayed 3. Although we want a relaxng week, if we want a night out pubbing/clubbing (we like pop/cheese) where's best? how much and how easy is it to get there? (and back) 4.by adrianomeara - Halkidiki
