Has anybody been in the Rivas Yacht Bar in Afitos just been on the Rigas Hotel website and looked at the photos it looks very nice but wondered what the prices were and who runs it, will be in Halkidiki in September and is it worth a visit?by C & A - Halkidiki

Hi Angie Please find the link hope it is of help, we are unsure exactly where the apartments are in the village but no matter where they are you will have a great time. [] As Blankie states have a drink in the cafe/bar paralis with George and Helena. Harris and Christos tavernas serve excellant food.by C & A - Halkidiki

Can anybody tell us if there is a supermarket/shop in Afitos that sells Johnsons Off, we have looked for it the last few years and not seen it. If not Afitos what about Kalathea ?by C & A - Halkidiki

It all depends on what you want to eat. Most greek dishes (chicken souvlaki, stifado, sousouzkaki etc) are about 6 euros, if you want fresh fish that goes by the weight of the fish but for example we had 2 starters, 1 fillet steak, 1 large red snapper and a bottle of wine @ 14 euros and the total for the meal was about 50 euros( it was a special occasion) or you can have garlic bread, pizza and dby C & A - Halkidiki

Can't help you with the Zeus hotel as we have not used it yet, some friends stopped there last year and are going back this year and we have booked for the end of August. The village of Afitos has many good tavernas and bars all within a short walk of the hotel.There are 2 tavernas (sorry dont know there names), overlooking the sea which are always busy especially at the weekends when the greeksby C & A - Halkidiki

Cant comment about the other 2 hotels but the Achtis is superb. The hotel, owners, staff, facilities and location are second to none. There are facilities for young and old (kiddies rides and bouncy castles in an area away from the pool and a gym for the adults to have a workout in) and the owners Achilles and Magda are continually seeking to develop the hotel even further. The hotel is very good with a nice sized swimming pool and friendly staff. If you leave the hotel and turn left you will walk to kalathea in about 5 mins where there are plenty of bars and places to eat. If you turn right a 30 min walk will get you to the traditional village of afitos which in our opinion is the best place in halkdiki (if you dont want to walk ask at reception for a taxi which wiby C & A - Halkidiki
