Hi - we went to Sithonia last July and stayed in Vourvourou - what would you like to know?

Hi - we did drive around the whole peninsular and found some beautiful beaches. Armenistis is a must see it is simply stunning - don't be put off by the fact that it's surrounded by a campsite it's beautiful with the most gorgeous colour sea and was one of our favourite beaches. We didn't like the fact that we had to leave our driving licence at the gate but it was ok and we got it back easily when we left. Karidi beach in Vourvourou is also stunning and that was where we spent most of our time. We stopped briefly at Sarti but it was too big and not really for us. Just past Toroni was another beautiful beach I think it was called Aretes and then further up towards Nikitis was the beach of Aghios Ioannis which was also lovely but we did collect 3 bags of rubbish while we were there!
Pyrgos beach was a good choice for the very busy Sundays - we went right down to the far end near the ruin which seemed to be nicer then the rest of it and as it's a huge beach it didn't feel too crowded with all the masses that descended on it!!

Kostas the owner of our apartments took us out in his boat to see the Islands of Diaporos around Vourvourou. He showed us all the Islands and we ended up on a gorgeous practically deserted beach with really shallow water where Kostas spent most of the day searching with his feet for shellfish! It was so peaceful and relaxing and we had a lovely day.

We did the boat trip to see the monastories of Mount Athos - I think we chose the windiest day of our holiday to go but it was great fun - we went on the big pirate ship which was fab. We popped into Ormos Panagias (where the webcam is based) and booked it a couple of days before we went so it was very easy.

We did drive around to Kassandra but only as far as Kriopigi as we wanted to visit Sakis at KC cars. It felt so different to Sithonia much busier roads and bigger hotels etc. but it was a lovely drive and we really enjoyed it.
Our only regret was that we didn't get up into the mountains as apparently the views from Mt Holomondas? are amazing - maybe next time - I think it's a good enough reason to go back
