Ioli Village is fine, we are going there again (our third time) this year. Its up at the northern end of the viallage, about five minutes to the beach, same to the centre of town. Rooms quite spacious, kept nice and clean. Facilities fairly basic and typical for Greece - the usual two ring cooking thing, kettle, teapot, cutlery, crockery, fridge. No oven. Swimming pool and poolside bar are fairly standard. Shouldn't be too much of a problem getting a sunlounger in May whereas its a scrum in high season. There is a kids club run by the reps but last year it was closed when we went (Sept) but that maybe just because there weren't any kids. You need to check with the tour operator if it will be open in May. There's a small bar on site and they do breakfasts at extra cost if you want one. There's some evening entertainment put on occasionally but it's very naff. Anna the receptionist is very helpful. There's a small on site supermarket run by a very friendly chap called Kostas, but we tend to use the two big supermarkets and small fruit/veg shop close by because the range is better and the prices cheaper.

Others are better at saying how good the place will be for kids but there lots of bars, restaurants/Tavernas, its easy to stroll up to Hanioti along the beach road. The beach can get quite crowded but it will be OK in May. Some things will not be open in May, its very early but the weather should be pleasantly warm and not unbearable. You may get the odd shower but they pass quickly.

There's quite a few organised trips - a boat trip across the bay, waterworld (widely regarded as a waste of money), trips to Thessaloniki, Petralona Caves and a market, and several others.

Hiring a car is useful if you want to get around or be independent. We do. Cheapest is Economy cars who advertise on this site, Kriopigi cars also have a good reputation, or Anna can arrange when you get there. Don't pay more than 30 Euros a day for a small car.

Enjoy!

Transfer by coach about two hours, depending on earlier drop offs. By car about an hour and a half. It's quite a nice drive, we enjoy it and stop off at Afitos for a bite to eat on way down.

Ioli village website is www.iolivillage-halkidiki.com

you can email Anna at iolivillage@otenet.gr

Hiya

Just so you know, Myself & My Girlfreind Kelly will be back at Ioli Village with Karaoke Disco! (Okey Dokey Karaoke) from May - Oct. Its Great fun & a taste of home really. Please join us & have a drink (or three!) and a laugh. You dont have to sing but considering that no one knows you it means you can get away with anything.

Anna is lovely to get along with but dont trust George (Who you will meet running the hotel, He is an ARSENAL fan!), nice bloke, but an arsenal fan!

George, if you're reading this i'd just like to say....GLORY, GLORY MAN UNIIIIIIITED!

See you in May

Love to all

Kelly, Mark & Baby leah x
