Re: hanioti beach - 16 years ago
Graham Having stayed at the Tropical last year, and gonig again this year and nest, I can recommend it. It is not far out at all, about a couple mins walk to the centre. The apartments are very nice and clean and the pool area is great as well. The owners and staff are all very friendly and will help as much as they can. Can't recommend it enough. I don't usually return to the same placeby figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Honeymoon - 16 years ago
Can definitely recommend the Tropicana Restaurant, food very good and reasonably priced. You get really nice cocktails at both Kelfos and Sunshine and they are placed well for people watching. I didn't go on the sunset cruise myself but I heard from others that it was very good, and romantic! The beach bar in Hanioti has lights over the water in the evening and you can actually stand inby figaro - Halkidiki

Just wanted to wish all who use this site a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year. I can't wait to return to Hanioti next year!by figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Whats new at the Cockney Cafe for 2008 - 16 years ago
I agree, Claire. Clearly everyone is hibernating for the winter. Me, I'm counting the weeks until I can get back to Hanioti, although unless I win the lotto this is not until September next year!by figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Help - we're new!!! - 16 years ago
Hi all I know it says in the brochure that the Tropical is for young couples but I went this year with my best friend (and we are both in our thirties) and next year am going with a friend again. So its not just for young couples - don't worry! As Joanne said above, Vicky is absolutely lovely and will welcome you to the Tropical, even if you are not staying there she will welcome you toby figaro - Halkidiki

Erdington Three Have you tried going into yoru local Thomas Cook and getting the Sunset brochure? They have listed this year (as opposed to Thomson) the Tropical Hotel which is where I stayed this year and have already booked up to go back to next year! Its a fantastic block of apartments and is just literally across the road from one you were looking at, the Vicky. One thing to warn youby figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Horseshoe bar - 16 years ago
Thanks Robby My friend and I are due to come on 18 September, late in the season I know but the only time we could get booked into where we wanted to stay - same place as this year - the Tropical Hotel! We are hoping that the sun will still shine on us (surely it will)! I met a lot of people this year who had been coming for years and a lot who will now be returning, as I am, next year andby figaro - Halkidiki

I would definitely recommend Hanioti to you, it is a wonderful holiday place, there are no lager louts but lots of nice places to eat and drink, my favourite restaurant was the Tropicana on the square. The beach is lovely and the water very clear. I found Hanioti as a whole to be very good value for money. Its a great place, I went for a week this year but am going back for two next yearby figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Horseshoe bar - 16 years ago
Robby, Can I ask a question, I know Hanioti shuts down in the winter, but does everyone leave or do people still live there, locals? Just wondered if everything closes, including the supermarkets etc? I had a fantastic holiday there in September, visited the Horseshoe as well and it was lovely. I am returning next September to stay for two weeks this time as we only stayed for one this yeby figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Venue for Wedding reception needed in Hanioti! - 16 years ago
Jaki Firstly, congratulations! I recently stayed in the Tropical Hotel and they had a nice room with an outdoor terrace. Not sure if they would hire it out but it would be worth a try! The couple who run it are Vicky and Sakis and they are lovely. You can contact them on info@hoteltropical.gby figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Help - 16 years ago
Hi Sarah Can't help you about the Sani beach sorry, but the Hanioti area is lovely. Beach is clean and the kids will love playing in the water, which is very clear. There are some kids play parks in Hanioti which looked in good repair, only walked past them though so can't really comment. Lovely restaurants on the square, especially the Tropicana. Hope you have a fantastic time, we dby figaro - Halkidiki
Tropical Hotel, Hanioti - 16 years ago
Just wanted to highly recommend these studios for anyone planning a holiday in Hanioti. Vicky and Sakis, the owners, are fantastic and nothing is too much for them! They are a lovely couple who work very hard and deserve to be a huge success. My friends and I will be returning here next year. The Tropicana restaurant on the square is also highly recommended, its run by the same family andby figaro - Halkidiki
