Re: Weather?! - 14 years ago
Just got back from Hanioti tonight and although we did, as usual, have a fantastic time, the weather was not kind to us. Out of our fortnight, it was really only the first five days that were sunny. We had three or so days of pouring rain and even thunder and lightning this morning and not looking too good for this week. We normally go at this time of year and have lovely weather. Re: OKEY DOKEY KARAOKE-Kelly & Mark X - 14 years ago
There's normally karaoke on a Thursday night at the Hanioti Village Hotel after the BBQ round the pool, with several shots etc to warm you up and get you in the right frame of mind (you must try a bodybag!) Billy (one of the owners - Greek/Australian) is your host and the system is really good. Where are you flying from? We go August 31 from Gatwick (5 weeks 4 days and counting)! Re: *OKEY DOKEY KARAOKE ANOUNCEMENT* - 14 years ago
Hi Jo b Have you tried just booking a flight with BA or Easyjet or even Thomson flight and then booking a room direct with the boys at Hanioti Village Hotel like we have done for the past three years? Haven't been lucky enough to stay for 3 weeks but have managed 18 days. Can only do 2 weeks this year so going with Thomson at the end of August (12th time). Regardsby shirls&baz - Halkidiki

Re: Prices - 14 years ago
To be fair though, if you take into account what you would spend here, foodwise etc. eating out, entertainment, and even maybe, a weekend away, against what you get over there, plus (fingers crossed, sunshine - fab beaches, lovely people etc) then I don't believe that it's too bad a deal. Going at the end of August for the 12th time and can't wait...................by shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: Things to do in and around Hanioti/Pefkohori/Polychrono - 14 years ago
Pefkohori is a lovely place - we go to Hanioti every year (as well as other places) and nearly always take a walk along the beach road to one of our favourite restaurants in Pefkohori - it's near the jetty along the front and does a lot of fish - you can choose which one you want from the display in the fridge. They do loads of other stuff as well and as seems to be quite normal in Halkidiki, tby shirls&baz - Halkidiki

Re: Kriopigi, Polihrono, Hanioti, PefkohoriI: LATEST WEATHER FORECAST - 14 years ago
Hi Sakis Have read your weather forecast and other bits with much interest since you started. We have been going to Hanioti for 12 years now (staying at the Hanioti Village Hotel) but maybe it's time we gathered up a posse and came to see you on a Saturday night! What time does it all normally kick off? Regards Shirleyby shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: Halkidiki Holidays who's will be there ? - 14 years ago
Hi Phil I don't know what it's called, I'm afraid but it's not hard to find - there are only a couple of restaurants there as I remember and I think it was the one on the end but I'm sure that Jane can help. What I do know is that the food was absolutely fantastic, we must have had a dozen or more different dishes (with Ouzo and wine!) including my favourite, grilled sardines (filleted!).by shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: Halkidiki Holidays who's will be there ? - 14 years ago
Hi Jane How lucky of you to be able to go to such a fab place long term! It certainly sounds like your fav place in Possidi is the one we went to. We had the aubergine and various other fantastic dishes, including deep fried courgettes and such, that Billy ordered on our behalf (and insisted on paying for too!) - how's that for hospitality?, and for afters, the owner brought us out a sorby shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: Hanioti resort info... - 14 years ago
Hi I can endorse Erodios (Jimmy (everything special) and Angela will look after you there) and also the Garden. Also as Ian has said try the walk into Pefkorhori along the beach road (which the Lesse is right on) there's a nice little beach bar about half way along and it has lovely gardens right down to the beach. You might also want to try BBQ night at the Hanioti Village Hotel which iby shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: Halkidiki Holidays who's will be there ? - 14 years ago
After thinking that we wouldn't be able to make it this year, have finally got another job and booked our holiday going out on 31st August - 14th September, staying at the Hanioti Village Hotel for the 12th time!!! Sooo happy about that. Last year Billy (one of the Hotel owners) took us to Posidi (your side of the peninsula, Jane) and we had the most fantastic meal there, practically sittinby shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: Hanioti Vs Pefkohori - 14 years ago

Re: Halkidiki Holidays who's will be there ? - 15 years ago
Not sure if we can make it to Hanioti this year (first time in 12 years or so). I have been made redundant and although looking hard for a job, not sure if what's going to happen. Boo hoo! Still, fingers crossed!by shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: best tavern - 15 years ago
It's not Billys Bar is it? That's up one of the prongs from the square. They have karioke nights.by shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: Restaurants/ Tavernas - Recommendations pls! - 15 years ago
I endorse both the suggestions made by Rosemary - especially Erodios. We ate there three or four times when in Hanioti earlier in the month and we were actually taken there by some local friends. See Jimmy or Angela for specials!!by shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: Horse Riding - 15 years ago
Hi Leigh Came back from Halkidiki last week but stayed on the Kassandra peninsular. I did see a sign for horse riding in Kallithea just by the big go-karting track by the nightclubs. Might not be any good for you but thought I'd mention it anyway. Enjoy your holiday....by shirls&baz - Halkidiki

Re: Easy Jet to Thessaloniki - 15 years ago
Hi Alanapp (surname not Appleton like mine perchance?) Flying Easyjet to Thessaloniki on Sunday (can't wait - even if it is 5.50am take off!) for 17 days! and have paid for speedy boarding etc. I am happy to let you know of my experience when I get back.
