Re: Where to stay in Halkidiki - 9 years ago
Hi Alanapp Yes, we did still drop in but unfortunately, I lost Baz just under a year ago but am coming out this year with a friend (hence nine days not the normal 17!) and would be very happy to stop by at that time and catch up with you. Three weeks tomorrow and counting...... let me know. Regards Shirlsby shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: Where to stay in Halkidiki - 9 years ago
As DavidPW says, we regulars would like to think that all of Halkidiki is safe. I'm off to Hanioti next month myself for the umpteenth time and can't wait. Hanioti is very lively with lots of bars and restaurants around the square open till late. Carolinus - if you see this, I'm at HVH from 11 June till 20 June - if you're around see you in the bar! Enjoyby shirls&baz - Halkidiki

Hey Carolinus, good to hear from you. We're well and hope you both are too. Going this year Aug 24 till Sept 11 - there are three of us so would be interested in maybe using your friend! Hope to see you there this year, missed you last year. Regards Shirls and Bazby shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: taxi price, thessaloniki to polichrono and back? - 11 years ago
Hi Mancrunch The last time we got a taxi to Hanioti (just past Polichrono) was about three years ago and it was 80 euros each way then and arranged by the Hotel we stay in. Last year as we had plenty of time to spare, we got a taxi to the KTel bus depot (16 euros) and then a bus to Hanioti (10 euros each) and it was great. If you arrive on the same day as the package holidays (often a Mondayby shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: Thomson Holidays - 11 years ago
Hi Steve & Maureen We often go independantly staying at the Hanioti Village Hotel (on the main road below the Lesse and not far from the Horseshoe bar). Give them a ring - Perry normally sorts out the booking prices (0044-00302374052103) and see what they can offer. We went for 18 days this year, had a senior suite and got a really good deal (but we have been going there for 15 yearsby shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: Thomson Holidays - 11 years ago
Hi We have just returned from 18 wonderful days at the Hanioti Village Hotel also going independantly. We arranged direct with the Hotel owners who we now know well having been so many times before. We got a taxi to the KTel bus station from the airport (16 euros) and a bus to Hanioti (11.50 euros each). We went out with Easyjet and got a cheap and very good deal back with Thomas Cook aby shirls&baz - Halkidiki

Re: Bars and Resturants in Hanioti - 11 years ago
Hi Nick & Joanne We are also going in June (20th) and endorse what Carolinus has written especially Erodios. Also try the Garden - it's on the right on the road leading to the beach. The tables are all under the trees. Have a great time Regards Shirls&Bazby shirls&baz - Halkidiki

Re: hanioti - 12 years ago
Hi Sunshine cruise was a long time ago but what great fun. I think it may be all different now but when we went, we left from one of the bays to the strains of Titanic which set the mood for the day - the mad Captain was in charge (sort of) but what a fab day we had! We sailed to a secluded bay and played silly games with tomatoes etc? and on the way back, had to drink loads of wine andby shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: hanioti - 12 years ago
Hi nd03 Sorry for the delay in replying. The beach is quite shingley at the water's edge but lovely and sandy where you lie on it. You can walk (barefoot if not too hot) all the way to the next village, Pefkohori or go along the beach road which has some lovely houses. It takes about 30-40 mins. Take the road opposite the hotel and follow it round to the right and just keep going. Tby shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: hanioti - 12 years ago
Hi Carolinus What a shame - we're going 20th June - 7th July! Never mind, maybe next year! Did you know that Billy got married a couple of weeks ago - we spoke to him last Sunday (he's also just had a hernia op!) Shirls & Bazby shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: hanioti - 12 years ago
Hi We've been going to Hanioti and staying at the Hanioti Village Hotel for the last 15 years and endorse all that Carolinus has posted (Hi Carolinus - sorry we won't see you this year!) and cannot recommend it highly enough. We go down to the beach often and spend the day there (sometimes not as often as we would like because there is so much going on in the hotel, it's hard to get out!!-by shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: hanioti - 12 years ago
Hi Steve and Maureen Very much hope to go back next year - have already been looking at prices. We're lucky, we go from Gatwick. I can't understand why they are not flying from Newcastle. Can't book anything yet though because the time I normally book off from work (end of August) has already been taken and I will have to work around that so I will leave it for a bit but yes, we love Halby shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: hanioti - 12 years ago
Hi Steve & Maureen Got back on Monday 5th after our 14th time in Hanioti. Sad to report (I think) that the restaurants and bars seem to be struggling! Not too bad at week-ends when the locals are in town but otherwise not as busy as previous years. Not many in Stones or Nicks and rumour has it that the Pella Beach is going to become all inclusive for Russians after closing next year fby shirls&baz - Halkidiki
Re: Anyone form the U K going to Halkidiki 2011 ? - 13 years ago

Re: Dogs and other animals in Halkidiki - 13 years ago
Hi Jane I just thought you might like to know that at the end of last week for the second time in recent months, a charity has been collecting for Greek animals at London Bridge and I'm happy to say that people, including myself, were donating. Regards Shirls and Bazby shirls&baz - Halkidiki
