Re: Just got back from Kriopigi - 17 years ago
Hi, with having lots of Greek friends we didnt actually stay in at night. But there was a BBQ once a week, I think there was a quiz or bingo night, and of course the pool bar is very lively and friendly. They have a book library where you can swap books too. You are not that far away from Kriopigi, which whilst not crazy busy, does have various bars, tavernas and of course our friends GLUKO CAFby Jane - Halkidiki
Re: SIMM cards - 17 years ago
Re Kerrys comments. Although I speak Greek (a bit !) I got a friend to set mine up so it comes up with English instructions. Much easier ! Vodaphone worked for me in my Motorola, and then I changed to a Razor and it still works. I also wanted to be able to text in Greek and had it "flashed" here in the UK so I can text in Greek whilst on either SIM card, but instructions still appeaby Jane - Halkidiki

We got a good deal in Kassandreia town. There is a Vodaphone shop there. We keep the number, and we can top up in the UK too, so it makes it easy to not run out of credit and lose that number. Janeby Jane - Halkidiki
Re: Fourka - 17 years ago
Don't worry Jen, June is usually a lovely month. There can be thunderstorms all through the season, but generally they are very loud and very short storms, and mostly overnight. Everywhere dries up so quickly afterwards there is no problem. All that heat has to cause some storms ! I go 15 June too, and the weather has been getting hotter each day. Don't worry and have a great time, it willby Jane - Halkidiki
Re: snorkeling/scuba diving - 17 years ago
Hi Roy Just a quick question. We have been coming to Halkidiki for over 30 years, this year I am 50. I quite fancy doing this but wonder if I am fit enough. What constitutes "fit" for diving. I am a larger size lady ! but can swim quite well and do not have asthma or anything. Just thought it might be a nice thing to do for my 50th birthday which is while we are over there in Juneby Jane - Halkidiki
Re: Fourka - 17 years ago
I don't know great detail about Fourka having never stayed there. But we lived in Mola Kaliva up the road a bit for three years and we visited Fourka. There is Fourka by the seaside where there are tavernas, pizza places, shops etc. The ones we visited were around near the square, not actually on the seafront, but I think I saw a sign advertising meals and sea views. Many places to eat and driby Jane - Halkidiki
Re: House to rent - 17 years ago
HH, where are your apartments to rent. Do you do all year rent? Thanks. Janeby Jane - Halkidiki
Re: Car Hire - 17 years ago
Hi, try Economy Car Rentals advertised on this site. We used them and they were very good. We don't have children, but I am sure on the booking request form it asks if and what extras are needed. Or you can book when you get to Hanioti. There are loads of places all over the peninsula. In particular Kriopigi Cars are good, friendly and reasonable prices. Kriopigi is not far from Hanioti, buby Jane - Halkidiki
