Summer Season 2009 - 14 years ago
i just wondered if anyone knew bar owners or cafe/restaurant owners to gauge what kind of summer 2009 was for them...i was'nt over this year and you get the impression things are'nt getting any easier and with Halkidiki being a short season i was intersted in hearing some feedbackby brian_the_gent - Halkidiki

Re: NewAll-Inclusive Hotel in Hanioti - 14 years ago
its such a short season in Halkidiki that bars, cafes restaurants and the like only get a few months to earn so A/INCL properties although may bring in extra tourists will do little to help the townsfolk...as they will see very little of their moneyby brian_the_gent - Halkidiki
NewAll-Inclusive Hotel in Hanioti - 14 years ago
speaking with a guy recently who had been to the new hotel in Hanioti...the Elinotel Apolamare nice hotel in nice spot BUT its an A/INCL deal...although its nice to see new hotels/apts opening i don't believe smaller resorts, like Hanioti can afford to see A/INCL accm as to me it will not benefit the resort as if you book and pay for A/INCL your probably less inclined to spend in the rby brian_the_gent - Halkidiki
Re: restaurants - 14 years ago
personally i love trying the local foods/drinks its all part of your holiday,,, i just don't go agree that i must not eat/drink items i get back in the UK..by brian_the_gent - Halkidiki
Re: restaurants - 14 years ago
MR STEVE...i've had this kind of discussion previously....and going by your reasoning people should'nt drink scottish whisky or american beer or coca cola just becausr there on holiday for me that does'nt work i want to enjoy my food/drink wherever i'm lucky enough to be on holiday.by brian_the_gent - Halkidiki
Re: restaurants - 14 years ago
there used to be a 'indian ' type restaurant, very close to 'stones' restaurant run by Banladeshi staff and i always enjoyed their food...not sure if still in businessby brian_the_gent - Halkidiki
Re: TRANSFER FROM AIRPORT - 5 PASSENGERS - 14 years ago
the only suggestion i have is to contact some of the Tour Operators who do Hanioti and see if your flt connects with their flights and ask them to sell you 'Transfer' to/from the resort which usually costs around £ 20 ppby brian_the_gent - Halkidiki
Early arrivals - 14 years ago
just wonderin how any early arrivals had found there stay in Halkidiki...i realise its very early in the season keen to know how the resorts 'feel' and if there are many 'Brits' about as reading many messages get the feeling its a bigger seller to Eastern countriesby brian_the_gent - Halkidiki
Re: money matters - 14 years ago
post office is very good but try crown currency usually higher rates and thomson travel shops will match crown currencies rates just print off and take with you to thomson travel shop and as i stated earlier usually even better than post office.by brian_the_gent - Halkidiki
Re: early hols - 15 years ago
i would be most surprised if they were not !! as the summer season is very short therefore i can't see businesses not talking full advantage of the now up and running tourist seasonby brian_the_gent - Halkidiki

Re: neriedies hotel hanioti - 15 years ago
although there are plenty of choice accm wise if you do a DIY holiday one factor is expensive and thats transfers [ if you not a driver or don't want to drive]to many of the popular resorts your looking at £ 120 return for a couple it all adds upby brian_the_gent - Halkidiki
Re: neriedies hotel hanioti - 15 years ago
as you say there is no way to justify that type of increase...but there are a few reasons for a partial increase in prices such as cost of fuel/less competition on routes to Greece/since XL demise many tour operators realising that some of their prices were too low... at the end of the day is like buying any item especially large expensive items such as a holiday it means doing moreby brian_the_gent - Halkidiki
Re: neriedies hotel hanioti - 15 years ago

Re: wembley bar - 15 years ago
hi rosemary, Life is such a guy and he is a big miss...i preferred when his bar was more central just around from supermarket...when he had to relocate the bar it did not help his business although bigger premises it was slightly out of the road and you had to make a bit of effort to go whereas his old bar position was more central for everyoneby brian_the_gent - Halkidiki
