Re: Hanioti restaurants - 14 years ago
Gutted about the Hot Goblin - they did fantastic breakfasts and their messy brekkie roll was gorgeous! Hope Jan and Neil are ok and know that Hanioti will miss them!by figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Hanioti restaurants - 14 years ago
There are quite a lot of restaurants in Hanioti, in and around the square and some a few mins walk. Recommended are Tropicana, Stones, Gusto Italian, Hot Goblin (which is just a little placed but they do great breakfasts and fab jacket potatoes. There is a Chinese as well but I've never been so can't comment. You will love Hanioti, its a great place to stay! Lisaby figaro - Halkidiki

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that Millychip! I've never stayed in the Sarantis so can't comment on those apartments but I absolutely love Hanioti! What went wrong?by figaro - Halkidiki

Re: ammos studios - 14 years ago
The holiday season will still be running, though places will start to be a bit quieter than in high season. It will be a lot more chilled out and less people will be around. Though I am sure you will still be able to find some lively bars! It should still be warm, though will get chilly in the evening and I would recommend a cardigan or light jacket. I was in Hanioti in the first week ofby figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Hanioti - 14 years ago
Masha, if you decide to go to the Greek night at The Acropolis its probably best to book in advance, You can do this on this forum, find the thread "Greek Night at the Acropolis - Stunning". I have heard that the Greek night at the Naias is good as well and I know that there is one on a Tuesday night at the Tropical Hotel, it might be worth enquiring there as well if you don't wantby figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Greek Night at Acropolis Taverna....Stunning! - 14 years ago
Sakis, Could I please book a table for 2 people for Saturday 5 September for the Greek Night? Thanks Lisa (Figaro) We will be coming by taxi from Hanioti.by figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Hanioti - 14 years ago
Suggest you book for the Greek night at The Acropolis in Kriopigi, which is about 5 mins away in a taxi. The taxi should cost around 10-12 euro each way. I will be going there myself this year, having read the wonderful reviews on this site about the evening! Regards. Figaroby figaro - Halkidiki
Re: air con vicky appartments - 14 years ago
Richie, I was at the Vicky Apartments last year at the end of September. If you get one of the apartments down the steps to the right of the main stairs you will not need air con, they are lovely and cool. You will LOVE the Vicky Apartments, the owners are so friendly and helpful. The pool is small but there is plenty of room for everyone to sit around it and it gets the sun the majorityby figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Kriopigi, Polihrono, Hanioti, PefkohoriI: LATEST WEATHER FORECAST - 14 years ago
Richie, Sorry I have no idea of the taxi far, but I can't imagine that it will be more than 8 euros each way? That is only a rough guess but Kriopigi is literally only 5 mins away from Hanioti on the main road (its the other side of Polychrono). Sorry I can't be of any further help there. Any other questions you have on Hanioti I will try to help, but if you have been to the area before yby figaro - Halkidiki

Richie, If you look at the thread entitled "Greek Night at the Acropolis - Stunning" you will see the contact details to book for the Greek Night. My friend and I are coming to Hanioti on 3 September and will be booking for sure. Taxi wise - usually the owner of your apartments/hotel will be happy to call a taxi for you, otherwise there is a taxi rank just off the square in Hanioby figaro - Halkidiki

Jane, Thanks for your recommendations. I have talked to my friend and we are definitely going to go to the Greek night at the Acropolis, we are really looking forward to it! Sakis, we will be booking up with you before we come to make sure we get good seats! We are coming to Hanioti at the beginning of September, and are counting down the days. We love the area, having been quite a fewby figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Greek Night at Acropolis Taverna....Stunning! - 14 years ago
Sakis, Can you please tell me how much your Greek night is? I've heard such wonderful reports of it and my friend adn I are thinking of coming along when we come to Hanioti in September. Also, what time does it start and finish? Thanks Lisaby figaro - Halkidiki

Re: Polichrono, Halkidiki - the real Greece - 14 years ago
Loll, if you can get your hands on some Avon Skin so Soft Dry Oil Body Spray in Soft and Fresh this will keep the mossies away - it works a treat - they hate it! I always get bitten but when I have this on I never do. If you don't have a local agent, you can buy from the website. Have a great holidayby figaro - Halkidiki
Re: First choice, no thursday flights 2010? - 14 years ago

Re: Tropical Hotel, Hanioti - 14 years ago
I don't think they do Charlie, but the best thing to do is to contact them direct on info@hoteltropical.gr and ask them! You will have a fab time I can guarantee it!by figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Prices - 14 years ago
Jane and Jane, This is exactly the kind of information I was looking for - thanks so much! This will be my third year in Hanioti I love the place! Lisaby figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Tropical Hotel, Hanioti - 14 years ago
The main road behind the hotel can get noisy at times but if you are in a room on that side, once you have closed your balcony door you can barely hear it and if you have the air con on you cannot hear it at all. Do not let reports of the noise stop you from going to the Tropical, you will have a fabulous holiday there! The couple who run the hotel, Vicky and Sakis, will make you feel veryby figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Prices - 14 years ago
Thanks everyone who has posted info about prices on this thread, though its been hijacked a little with other questions! lol Be interesting to hear of supermarket prices for things like wine, ouzo, pop and other essentials! lol Prices in bars/restaurants in Hanioti would be a great help also. Thanks again everyone!by figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Prices - 14 years ago
Thanks all who have replied so far. I've been to Hanioti the last two years running and thats where I am headed again this year. I agree that the prices seem to be around the same as last year but will seem higher due to our rubbish exchange rate which currently stands today at 1.11! It won't stop me going to Greece and especialy Halkidiki though! My friend and I have discussed what toby figaro - Halkidiki
Prices - 14 years ago
I thought it might be a good idea to start a new thread about prices for various items this year in Halkidiki. Such as drinks, meals, supermarkets etc etc. Please post your comments, I, for one, will find it very useful! I can't wait to get to Halkidiki this year, though its not until September! Thanks Lisaby figaro - Halkidiki
Re: Hanioti resort info... - 14 years ago
The transfer time will be between 1.5 and 2 hours, it really depends on how many drop-offs there are. So I would recommend having a bottle of water or pop with you to drink. Although sometimes it can be quicker and it never really seems as long as once you are on the coast you are looking out at the beautiful sea and wishing you were swimming in it! Hanioti is the perfect place for you andby figaro - Halkidiki

Re: Hanioti accomodation - 14 years ago
Suggest she tries the Tropical Hotel (info@tropicalhotel.gr) or the Vicky Apartments? Sorry I don't have an email address for the Vicky with me at the moment, though I can put it on here tomorrow. That early in the season, I don't think you will have any trouble finding accommodation for a week. There are several nice restaurants in the square that would accommodate you for your meal, oneby figaro - Halkidiki
