Re: Thomson Holidays - 11 years ago
Brian, That i do agree with, it averages 120 euro's each way, there really should be a public bus that runs directly from the airport, one for Kassandra and one for Sithonia, maybe every hr or 2. Although we do hire a car for the majority of our holiday, Sakis at Kriopigi car rental picks us up and takes us back to the airport for the cost of the fuel, so if you do intend hiring a car, that maby lucky lady - Halkidiki

Hi, We gave up using tour operators 3 yrs ago when we found out the pittance that they pay the hoteliers for the rooms, now we book our holidays independently with the knowledge that the money we spend goes straight to the hotel, we've also found that this way we dont usually get charged extra for air con, safety deposit box etc. It also works out a lot cheaper and if you dont want to stay in onby lucky lady - Halkidiki
Re: car hire in polichrono - 11 years ago
Hi, Also get a quote from Sakis at 'kriopigi cars' they are a family run firm, we use them all the time when we are in halkidiki. You can find a link to them through the 'Akropolis restaurant' link on the home page of this site. Enjoy your holiday in Halkidiki.by lucky lady - Halkidiki

hi alex, we got married in may and we used normal taxis, they are all mercedes and very nice, if your hotel books them for you they will ensure that the taxis are aware that they are for a wedding, word of warning though, make sure they put the meter on as my husband was charged 20euros from hotel to town hall and mine was 8 euros for the same journey 10 mins later.by lucky lady - Halkidiki

hi sharon, we just got back from getting married at kassandria town hall, not sure how far it is from your hotel but it took us 15mins in a taxi from aegean melathron kallithea.the actual service lasts only about 10 mins, the words are read in greek and then translated into english, the only words we had to say was 'i do' its not religious, more about family virtues which was nice. inside makesby lucky lady - Halkidiki

Re: halkidiki wedding - 16 years ago
Hi there Majic30 Yes we had to have our passports legalised, if Androulla says they have to be legalised then its best to be on the safe side as she is kept up to date with everything by various legal bodies. the best thing to do would be to ring your solicitor and check they are registered with FCO, if they are, forward your paperwork asap, if not, find one who is asap, ring Androulla and leby lucky lady - Halkidiki

Re: halkidiki wedding - 16 years ago
Hi nicola To be honest i dont think Androulla will know of a solicitor if not your best bet is to go back to another partner at the same office as last time and ask if anybody else is registered, we had trouble with our solicitor, and to be honest i dont think it takes much more for a solicitor to register with the fco. have a big glass of wine and try not to worry too much, im sure everythiby lucky lady - Halkidiki
Re: halkidiki wedding - 16 years ago
Hi Nicola, Dont stress too much, get your passports certified by another solicitor, ring androulla to see if they need legalising, if they do then save them till you send the rest of the paperwork to Androulla, she will have everything back to you within 2 weeks although if you collect your papers on 27 march, send them off that day, you should have them back in plenty of time . then you haveby lucky lady - Halkidiki
Re: halkidiki wedding - 16 years ago
Hi Lindsay, If all your paperwork is straightforward wait till you get your no impeds, then send it all off to the translator, who, will get it all done for you and it will all be back within 2 weeks of sending it. We used Androull Veliotou tel 02083376093,shes very good and will explain everything on the phone. to get a rough idea of how much it will all cost, each doc must be, legalised -by lucky lady - Halkidiki
Re: wedding paperwork - 16 years ago
hi all, Androulla does do a courier service, £90 for the full service or £50 + £8.75 vat for her to take them to be stamped at the greek consulate only. personally, due to the tight timescale after getting no imped certs, we think its worth the £90 to get it all done and she will get everything back to you in about 14 days. we pick our no impeds up on 18 feb so should get it all back by eby lucky lady - Halkidiki

Re: halkidiki wedding - 16 years ago
hi all, I too was informed that passports no longer need to be legalised etc i emailed first choice and they said that they hadnt been informed that this was so, and as far as they are aware, you still need to have them done. I think the best person to ask would be the translator that you are using. Hope its nice and warm beginning of may as we hopefully get married on the 9th.by lucky lady - Halkidiki
