As you will see from my post below, I am going to Polichrono in early September. What excursions are there to experience? What can you lot recommend?

Hi,
I recommend an excursion by boat to the Torroneos-gulf. This starts from Pefkochori harbour. The siling boat goes at first to the Turtle Island and then to Neos Marmaras on the Sithonia peninsula. This excursion is fantastac.
And you can take a trip by motorcycle on the Kassandra. Our route was the next one: Polichrono - Kallithea - Kassandria - Siviri - Fourka - Posidi (Golden Beach) - Nea Skioni - Loutra - Paliouri - Pefkochori - Hanioti - Polichrono

Where is best disco, bars in Polychrono ?

Definitaly the TROPICAL on the sea shore.

The excusion to Mount athos (the 3rd penninsula) is well worth it. Its beautiful and a day on a boat with such a breeze is very much apprecited in the heat.
The trip to thessaloniki is really good, very good shopping and a beautiful city, but its really hot in the city!
The Caves in Petralona are cool too.
